When its it ok to start asking questions of our physios and conditioning staff? Thats Wilson, Sonny, Soloman and Richarlison just off the top of my head that have had reoccurring injuries.

I know this is the natural response, and I know it's still valid but just want to mention (as it's been mentioned a few times before) but these types of injuries are becoming the norm as more and more matches are played. I believe it was up over 100% in 21/22 season from the norm and it's only increased since then, will have to try and dig up the source.

Just my opinion but hard when you have a young player like Odobert adapting to a new system/club then sent off a few times in the first few months in order to play for his country's U21 side imo for unnecessary matches after a Summer filled with tournaments.

What is this bullshit luck. We finally try to cover depth in offense and this happens.

So we’re stuck with Werner, Johnson and a 17 year old who should be eased in with little pressure. Great.

He's caught the Solomon curse.

Looks promising for 2 games and then ends up being out for most of the season.

Going by Ange’s presser it sounds like it’s a new injury in the same area rather then aggravating the one he just had. Certainly concerning.

Difficult this one because it's not like he was overplayed. He got injured starting against Coventry which is a game everyone would want him starting. He had a very short spell off the bench against AZ. You have to integrate him at some point so I'm not sure what we've done wrong here. Maybe the training end of things the recovery process itself wasn't thorough enough. Do we need players to spend more in rehab before light field work and then full training? Do we give then 2 weeks full training before making the match day squad?

The amusing thing is when you look on his transfer market profile it suggest that this current hamstring injury is his first recorded career injury. He may have had some in the past but nothing remotely major from what I can see.

Just bad luck. I appreciate people want to ask questions of our medical team, but it doesn't explain why other players aren't injured as much.

He plays in a positon where you get more contact and have to run more, seems to make sense why you'd keep getting injuries, especially if you are prone to them.

Yea questions have to be asked surely. Can just be our style of play as re-occurring injuries before the player has even played many minutes again is 100% down to poor re-conditioning.

They brought in a new head of Sports Science and additional support staff during the summer to reinforce and improve our injury issues.

What is there to question? This is all very reactive - there's no way to 100% prevent injuries.

Also, why would you mention Solomon as if we didn't sign him with existing known injury issues?

Please refer to that table - with Ange's recent update, it means we only have one player out dealing with a long term injury - compare to that the other teams in the league. Only 3 other teams are reportedly doing better than us when it comes to dealing with injuries.

Yes Solomon missed several months at Fulham.

Quick players are often injury prone. Didn’t Ryan Giggs have frequent hamstring and calf injuries when he was younger?

Good context/info thanks.

I think the question marks are more around new signings or other players hitting frequent setbacks as part of their injury recovery plans.

Same thing happened to Richy earlier this season.

Ange did also say it takes most players a season to adapt to his style of play and training so could just be that Odobert’s body and hamstrings haven’t adapted just yet.

We must be cursed as a club. Cant think of another club that has signed so many players that are then broken within weeks of joining.

Lamela
Sess
Lo celso
Solomon
Richi
Odobert

Just off the top of my head. Its like the min we spentmd some money on player this happens. Hopefully he comes back stronger for it. Just unfortunate that its in the one position where we need cover

I certainly don't think we do ourselves any favours ether. Even on a free Solomon was a big gamble given his injury history. Its actually awful when you look at it. Whats also crazy is the same window we got Solomon for free we could have got Omar Marmoush for free instead. Also didn't Sess have his injury issues before we signed him or am i miss remembering?

Ether way lets just hope we haven't broken Odobert for good.

The way Ange just came straight out and said it looks serious has me dreading further details tbh. It makes it sound like one of those "he's just not been the same since that injury" kind of injuries and we barely even saw him beforehand.

We knew this anyway but

I don't know, I still think it happened in training because he was 100% in the training video that went out between the AZ match and Palace and I think the players who were training outside aligned perfectly with those who started the AZ match and were presumably on a lighter training day. That, and the video has "preparations for our trip to Palace" in the description.

Eg - just after 5 minutes in...
