It’s the threat he carries and the way he forces more attention his way when he has the ball. <40% success rate on his dribbles today but it’s they way he’s always a danger to create space for himself 1v1 that we now have. Really refreshing and needed, and he’ll only get better.

I'd imagine the front three when all fit and firing would be Odobert-Solanke-Son. Early signs were good I have to say.

Exactly what we've been missing. He sort of ran out of steam 2nd half but then that's also why we need the depth. Hopefully with Son left he can do just as well on the right. So impressed with how comfortable he is either foot, nightmare for defenders that. We will most likely get something around 60-70 mins quality from him for a while but bring on say Johnson or Werner for the rest of games and we will look very strong in attack from start to finish.

Did well today especially in the first half. Looked a constant source of making something happen and creating space. More of the same next week please!

Thought he was a bit indecisive at times but overall a very good debut
There were certainly times I thought he could have attacked the FB a bit more but instead checked out but I think that’s a confidence issue. As in, once he is fully adjusted and knows his role within the system im sure he will be more aggressive in his actions and wont second guess himself.

Did we wait until Mikey Moore signed his pro contract until signing a young talented winger? Devious if so!!
No, Mikey's contract was agreed ages ago, he just needed to be 17 to sign it, the same with the extension when he turns 18.
I don't think Odobert will offer any threat to Moore breaking through, they are pretty different players and both versatile enough to play in a number of positions.

Started brilliantly, faded as the game went on but I thought he showed exactly the kind of attributes we’ve been missing out wide.

I thought it was noticeable how much more threatening we looked as a team with him on the pitch, certainly first half.

I think it was because he was up against a very rapid defender. The Everton fullback is very fast. Against most other fullbacks he would have roasted them
Which sort of begs the question why he wasn't switched to the right - perhaps for the second half. Johnson wasn't exactly pulling up saplings.
