Off topic but kind of not off topic. Everyone on here is entitled to an opinion and people dont always have to be happy about everything. It is OK to express disappointment just as it is OK to express joy and excitement over a transfer. We are all Spurs fans and we all want the same end goal - success. We dont need to be shitty to each other over differing opinions and I am sure we can all agree that we are going to support this lad and hope he becomes a top player for us.

For fuck sake I didn't even get chance to follow all the talk about club allegiances or injury record, no meltdown or ffs Levy another cheap option etc etc. Bring back Paratici so we can know everything please.

He qualifies as U21, until 28/11/25.

As he joined Burnley on the 12/08/23, he wont have played in England for 3 years before 21st birthday, so wont be classed as HG long term.

The squad clearly needs to some long term management on that front.
I believe the rule is that a player continues to count as U21 until the end of the season he turns 21. So he will count as Non-HG for this season and next, by AT the season after.

Someone please correct this if it is wrong.

To be brutally honest, I think the majority of SC would’ve been underwhelmed if before the Euros it had been announced that our new attacking lineup would be

Werner - Solanke - Odobert

A second loan for a player that is far from being a unison fan favourite and/or world beater;
A striker that has failed at Chelsea and Liverpool and never been close to double digits for PL goals before last season;
A winger most hasn’t heard of from a relegated Burnley.

And: at the same time that this site was busy discussing if it would be two or all three of Ese, Neto and Doué.

That said:

I think Werner is quite useful. Especially if the team learns how to use him properly.

I hope Solanke will be much better than I fear he will be. Him in addition to Richy up front is an important bolstering of options for the position, though.

Odobert’s stats shared by others in earlier posts are very promising re successful take-ons, dribbles, progressive runs and passes etc. And he’s 19. To me, the far most exciting signing of the three.

We all love to sign an Ardilles, Waddle, Lineker, Gazza, Ginola - a name and a star. And for the right now, I wouldn’t mind at least one senior top shelf signing. But all in all; if this young team clicks, and all/most of the young talents realize their potential - we could have a very bright future. Very, very bright.
That's not going to be our first choice front 3 though is it.

I'm hoping that this signing has a positive influence on Johnson and encourages him to 'grow a pair' and perhaps step up a bit.

Think most of us just wanted a more established name who could fit straight into our starting 11 tbf Ideally left footed as well but I appreciate that market is slightly slim pickings
Why left footed? Surely we wanted a right footed right winger?

You are correct sir

What is a Home-Grown Player?

A "Home-Grown Player" means a player who, irrespective of nationality or age, has been registered with any club affiliated to The Football Association or the Football Association of Wales for a period, continuous or not, of three entire seasons, or 36 months, before his 21st birthday (or the end of the season during which he turns 21).

Looks mustard, remember him being one of Burnleys standouts last season along with Koleosho and Amdouni. Very happy with this.

Wonder if he's registered in time to make Monday's squad.

This lad's stats look on a par with Doué's but he's already done it in the Premier League for a season in one of the worst teams, so...

Anyway, fingers crossed.

I like it in the same mould as berg and Gray but actually worried about the starting XI now

Also, I think Yang plays more on the right, so could easily have him and Odobert on either wing (interchanging) next year when we win the Europa
