Just have to take the positives. Didn't look out of place.
You’re joking aren’t you? He didn’t look at all ready to play against that kind of opposition. He was bullied from the first minute and didn’t win a single 50/50 or header in the first half. The goal aside, he had a really poor game.

He doesn’t/didn’t have the physicality to compete for the ball against adult footballers.

This meant that we had no out ball, so I‘d go as far as to say that had Solanke been playing, we’d have never lost the ball as much as we were in the first half. Lankshear was a large part of the reason we played so poorly last night, probably as much as the midfield in the first half.

The sending off is just one of those things, stupid yes, but given his inexperience and how much he’d been bullied all game it’s understandable.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think he’s shit, or that he won’t make it, but he’s far from ready to be playing at this level, and looked completely out of place against a team that could probably make the knockout round in the champions league.

Hopefully he learns from this experience and he adds some muscle to his big frame.

I’m confident he’ll develop into a top class player. But we’ll have to be patient and understanding.

I think he allowed Gala's shithousery to get to him. They were dragging and bumping him.

He will learn from the experience

Give the lad some minutes Sunday . Hopefully we will be 2-3 up and able to give solanke a break late on .

could bag himself a 1st premier league goal if we play like we can against a tired struggling side especially against tired legs

Got no issue with him being sent off. Well taken goal and a great learning experience.

To be honest players with that edge tend to do well and I'm glad he stuck up for himself.

The second yellow albeit the correct decision, he looks like he kicked the floor prior to catching the player… it wasn’t like he lost his rag and mowed him down.

I like Lankshear, he has something about him and it looks like he’ll contribute more than the other academy strikers prior to him (Scarlett, Parrott etc).

He's going to open his PL account on Sunday. Just got a feeling about this lad that once he gets on a run, he won't stop.

Yeah and to be honest they were fucking about with him from the off, making the most of his inexperience.
Quite a few times I saw a defender tugging at him, hugging him and trying to intimidate him even when the ball was nowhere near.

It was a baptism of fire and he'll have learnt a lot from it.

Without going out on loan he is having to toughen up on the big stage rather than in a lower league. Cut the guy some slack, this experience means he will toughen up and learn the Ange methods with teammates which can only benefit everyone in the longer run.

Yeah, a lot for him to take out that game though. He played well his first game in Europa League, but this was a step up and him and Bergvall really struggled with the physicality of it.

He has shown he has a good eye for goal and good movement, but his hold up play needs a lot of improvement. Against a physical organised team, we had no outlet up front yesterday.

Still, I do think our prospects will benefit from this exposure. It is up to them now to develop and learn from it.

I'm also weirdly optimistic that this will be the case. I can see him scoring a lot of scruffy goals for us.

Surely our coaching staff would have talked to him about what to expect and how he should deal with it.

If it was all as easy as just telling a player what to do and them being capable of doing it all infallibly then I wish they'd just tell the entire squad to stick it top bins from 25 yards on repeat until we win 37-0!

I wish we had more depth so he could go on loan and get more game time. He looks like he could be a really good player.
