If he's looking for a move to China at his age, that tells me everything I need to know about him.

The Goat has bleated and said the magic number to ship Vinny out is £10mill which in this market, hopefully Spurs get a bite.

I don't see us getting the required amount from the MLS, Burnley or China maybe. Hopefully a lower half PL team step up.

£10m for someone his age and potential is good. You look at players like Kevin Prince Boeteng on his way to Barca on loan and realise that there's still hope for players like him. He just needs a change of scenary I think. Although Sissoko managed to turn things around for us but the difference is he was getting a good amount of games. I think with Janssen it's a case that Llorente is typically 3rd choice with Son acting as direct cover for Kane. So really Janssen is about 4th choice, although I still think we'd play Lamela or Moura up top before going for Janssen. With Sterling now coming through as well makes me think Llorente was always a stop gap until one of the academy players break through (albeit we weren't expecting Llorente to be so poor). We're not going to block the path of youngsters for Janssen so we really need to shift him out the door.

It would appear that Cardiff might be back in the market for a striker.
Feel a bit sorry for them.

It feels really horrible talking about this today, but maybe they can have him on loan for the rest of the season for a minimal fee to cover expenses and wages. At times like this the football world has to come together.

Probably wont happen, but would be a nice gesture to try and help out at an incredibly tough time. Would benefit Cardiff, us and Vincent.

That would be a brilliant gesture.
But Vincent would probably turn it down!

I saw him a few months ago in Hampstead Heath behind the wheel of a large automobile, with a beautiful wife and you could see he was asking himself How did I get here?

surely we can use him as a makeweight in a deal for an Ajax player like De Jong or De Ligt

Ajax reportedly had a wage cap of €1m per player per year, or under £17k a week. It sounds like recently there might have been a little more flexibility with that, but Janssen's wages of reportedly £25k per week plus substantial bonuses would even in a best case scenario be right at the top end of that and likely outside of it entirely. The transfer fee/equivalent value towards a player swap would similarly be pretty high for their standards. And all this is for a player who has done very little since leaving Holland, only had half a good season while there, and isn't in a position they need. So I'd be hugely surprised if they were at all interested.

It's a pretty common problem for clubs in the Premier League these days. Even the likes of Huddersfield are substantially richer than prestigious teams like Ajax, so if somebody flops it's extremely hard to sell them abroad - you're really looking at a nonsense league with money like China or America. And it's obviously also very hard to sell them to another club here who could instead take a punt on someone who hasn't already tried and failed.

So the book is closed on Vinny - but I'm not entirely sure why? He wasn't at all terrible in his first season - but for a striker, was not very good. He did ok. But sometimes players (especially young players) need a season? Something clearly doesn't sit well with Pochettino who, as the likes of Kaboul, Lennon, Townsend, (Adebayor?) and Capoue found out can be/is ruthless in his pursuit of excellence.

On this note, I suspect Vinny is simply "For Sale" and not to be replaced.

So we're not getting into the stadium, but we might finally have sold one of the most disappointing signings possibly ever.

Any word of who's interested?
