Janssen doesn't really matter I think because he didn't use a spot last season, but it does seem a bit ridiculous.
Total wage bill is still important financial constraint for us particularly with bumper contracts being signed by our existing players.

Shame for him not to have worked out for us. I always felt that if he got a couple of goals from open play we may have had a different player on our hands. Oh well, these things happen. I wish him good luck wherever he ends up.

If I remember correctly, he was unlucky on his debut away to Everton where we drew 1-1 and he had a shot blocked by a defender right on the line late on in the game with the keeper beaten. Then next game at home to Palace he went through one on one with the keeper, but he put his shot around the post. Abit more luck against Everton and abit more composure against Palace and he could have been off to a great start with 2 goals in 2 games and just the boost needed after stepping up into the premier league.

I’m hoping for the guts of £20m for him and would be happy enough with as low as £15m. Anything less and I think we are getting a surprisingly paltry amount for a player we managed to get a €5m season-long loan for.

Are things that desperate that I come into the Janssen thread.

Fuck.my.life

Got to admit I'm one of the most positive fans there is about how our future is looking and how quickly our growth has been over the past years but even I'm getting a bit irate that the only person we look close to signing is still playing in friendlies for his current club. We've left it late before but at least we had links to the majority of players we ended up signing well and truly in the swing of things

Who in the world would pay 20mil for Vincent Janssen? We didn't even do that and he was coming off a golden boot season, now he's sucked for 2 years.

He’s been injured a lot but there’s a decent player in there and it seems as though there’s more than one club interested now. The market today is seemingly even more inflated than it was when we signed him, so it’s not highly unlikely.

He’s an international striker with age on his side, I wouldn’t be surprised if there were a few clubs looking at him as a potential punt.

If we get 10mil for him we should take it and run.

In that case we may be tempted to just loan him out for a smaller fee in the hope it clicks for him this season.

We could end up regretting our decision to sell him for just £10m with the way things are going.

Yes but if he wasn't ours, how much would we be willing to pay?
Bet there's a big difference.

As is, Levy will probably get the best deal for us. if Poch deems it necessary to sell.

Let’s see what the fee is then. I wouldn’t rule out Levy getting us £15m-£20m for him.
