We need a right-sided Son (not Lucas) to complete our attack.Every player benefits from consistent starts and minutes on the pitch with his team-mates. Janssen didn't get that, understandably when we have Kane, and IMO Poch did give up on him too quickly.
Ultimately though with Kane in the team you're just never going to get up to your true form and it's going to mean a lack of confidence and consistent niggling injuries - both of which are just dead-ends for a striker. You'll never get going in that situation.
Look at Llorente's struggles until Kane got injured - and he is twice the player Janssen will ever be (no disrespect to Janssen) - a Spanish international with massive experience, proven at every level and it wasn't until he got consistent games that he could show his ability.
I pity any back-up striker at Spurs. While Kane is here you just won't ever be a real success. And that's fair because Kane will always be better than anyone else we can get.
