Cannot believe we didn’t manage to offload him again

I would have thought they’d be queuing round the block, what with his performances in the last 18months+

Some things don’t change. I read we were still paying 70% of his wages even when away from the club though. As Poch said, we aren’t a charity.

Crazy. He’s taking wages and stopping others coming through.

A classic example of when it’s better to bite the bullet early and accept a reasonable fee. We’ve got plenty of previous in this regard too

We accepted an offer from Genk in the summer but he refused to go. Can't blame Levy on this occasion.

With Bergwijn, Gedson and Lloris needing you be reregistered into The CL squad, I can see Wanyama being left out due to the non HG issue. Now that Parrott will be able to join Foyth on the B list until the end of the season, the below is the up to date list of players who need to be registered as non HG, so Wanyama is the clear loser there. Makes sense to try to agree a termination fee with him I feel.
  1. Lloris
  2. Vorm
  3. Gazzaniga
  4. Aurier
  5. Alderweireld
  6. Sanchez
  7. Vertonghen
  8. Davies
  9. Dier
  10. Wanyama
  11. Ndombele
  12. Lo Celso
  13. Gedson
  14. Sissoko
  15. Son
  16. Bergwijn
  17. Lucas
  18. Lamela

Anyone seen the comments on our recent Facebook posts? On Sacramento's birthday post there are 100s of comments from angry Kenyans threatening to "send locusts" and "eat the bird from the badge" if we don't play Wanyama more :ROFLMAO:
Billions of locusts swarm through Tottenham. "The sight was terrifying!" Said one of the locusts.

nuts to ask for more money, i would let him leave on a free , at least we get to save on wages
I think we would have let him go on a free but nobody would pay the same wages. Looks like we agreed to pay 70% of them and then presumably tried to lower that figure. Should have stuck with the deal . At least 30% of his wages would have been subsidised. Very short sighted and rather silly.

I am usually one of ENIC’s biggest defenders. In the summer we accepted a bid for Wanyama which is why I hate when fans blame Levy for us not selling last summer, it’s completely senseless.

However, if that French outlet’s story is accurate and we changed our mind in the negotiation this window then Levy has fucked up this time.

By the way that Gffn account chats absolute bollox and is Arsenal based.

Was going to say this.

Apparently Wanyama wanted 60k wage at minimum at the new club. A club like Amiens would never pay him that.

I get Levy has form with this but Wanyama is literally a waste of space
Just did a quick Google search and this suggests Amiens highest paid player is under €20k a week.

If a deal was possible then surely we’d have had to heavily subsidise his wages.
