Was a better version of Sissoko at his best

Is now a very poor version of Jamie Redknapp

It’s frankly insulting for him and for us to be anywhere near a squad supposedly chasing the CL Trophy and a CL spot

On his day he was genuinely up there with Kante, now he’s about 9million light years away

We seemed to have a habit of one season defensive midfield wonders...

Palacios, Parker, Sandro, Bentaleb, Dier, Wanyama.

We now have none or they’re all out of form or crocked.

I think some of those aren’t quite one season wonders. Sandro especially. Do (sort of) see your point, though.

I’ve noticed this before, and I think it’s down the battle they put their body through, they’re much more likely to get a serious injury than say a winger, I’d think. It’s a lot of running in CM too, of course.

After the knee injuries he's not the same player. He's never been the fastest or the most agile player, but you can see that his movement is not the same as it used to be. It's sad to see what injuries can do to a player.

I think you’re doing him a disservice, he was an absolute force his first season with us. He was like a panther in the middle. When he walked past me at Wembley a few seasons back I was shocked at how small he was because he was so strong and powerful on the pitch, belied his stature really.

It’s why it’s so sad seeing him plod around today, and you can tell he knows which makes it all the more heartbreaking. It also makes it all the more baffling why he is still getting game time for us

Heartbreaking really. He was a bloody good player. Hope he can get back to his previous form. And he likes spaghetti. C’mon Vic.

It never ment to do him a disservice. He was magnificent the first season. He was world class and would be a starter in every top club in Europe. I missed that part in my first post. But the knee injury early in his second season destroyed him. Really sad.

He cant. He has bum knees now and is permanently crocked. Sad but it is what it is. Best to give his games to Skipp.

Watching this makes it abundantly clear to me why we have fallen apart, I've been fixated on the Dembele situation but the reality is we were on a decline before Dembele left maybe not results wise but definitely performance wise and seeing what Wanyama used to bring and used to allow the rest of the team to focus on really brings it home for me. Funnily enough I always felt the same thing happened with AVB, we were looking solid with Sandro and Dembele and then Sandro did his knee vs QPR and then we looked shit aside from Bale carrying us. We need a new DM more than anything.
