Could’ve called out anyone else except the two CB’s and the GK. Fine, Werner was terrible, but so were his partners in attack, the midfield, and the fullbacks. Personally I’d want this to be kept private, as he said literally yesterday when talking about Romero he wouldn’t call out players in public.

I actually think Werner offered more tonight than Son and Johnson and goals aside the same applies for the season. Just an easy target with his shocking finishing
Sorry but can’t let that one go, agree Son & Johnson weren’t good but Werner was (imo) no way better than them, if only because it seemed like he gave the ball away when in possession way more.

Surely he’s just said this in response to a question on why he brought Timo off at half time. That’s why he’s talked about him specifically as opposed to say, Son

As poor as Werner has been, Ange singling him out when others have been just as poor or worse, feels hypocritical.

Makes you lose a fair bit of respect for him.

Cancel the loan and get him out of here. If we can’t cancel the loan then just de-register him and sign an actual footballer.

The fact Ange and our recruitment team thought he’d be a good signing tells me they haven’t got a clue about squadbuilding. Shocking.
The real kicker was them extending his loan before the window even opened last Summer.

I suggest people actually watch the press rather than respond to a singular media quote.

Ange didn’t single Werner out. He was asked why he subbed him early and Ange it was tactical and he wasn’t playing well.

He quickly moved onto talking about how well Gray did out of position.

People really need to stop falling misinformation and feeding into it,

I’ve watched it. He’s gone in on him hard, in a way that I haven’t seen before from him. Ange seems a man on the edge to me.

Doesn't want to lose that dressing room
True and also I think the difference is Son & Johnson etc have regularly been good for Ange or done what he’s wanted whereas Timo hasn’t really and so now he gets a start that is Ange kind of saying mate if you want to start again you need to up your level … mate

He didn’t go hard on him at all. He briefly answered the question saying he didn’t play well today then moved on.

Ange didn't mention tactical. He said Werner was a senior player but did not pull his weight, and that's not acceptable given what he's asked of the more junior players.

Ange did not mention other senior players at all, and wasn't asked about it, likely because they weren't subbed off abruptly.

And Son, our captain....one of the worst displays Ive seen from him.

He picked on the easy target.
Son is in serious decline. But at least he put effort in, showing for the ball and making runs to close down their defence.

Son has been a great player for us, giving us some great moments but age catches up with us all.
