For me, I think he has to be assessed over the season.

I think the hope was he'd come in and either click so well we'd want to make the move permanent. Or he'd be a decent stopgap while our younger players develop and try to get up to level.

With injuries, illness and just being very young, it's possible Odobert, Moore and Dorrington need more than just this season to get up to level.

I believe his contract with Leipzig expires in 2026. If they can't get a transfer fee for him then they might want to loan him out to us again.

For now, I'll stay on the fence and see how he performs and other players develop before making up my mind.
Dorrington is a centre back?

Sure, I probably shouldn't added him. Was just making the point that 3 young players we have high hopes for appear to be more than just this season away from being up to level to be regular first team squad members.

Ok il admit when through on goal he is like Bambi, but you cannot watch a full game and say he doesn’t put the shits up the opposition, he is rapid and what’s more he can control his movement so so so well, the defenders have no idea if he’s going left or right. He is a solid addition to our team on the left IMO in terms of value for money.

2 goals in 9, Son has 3 goals in 9, people seem obsessed with his history rather than looking at his current form.

I think in terms of value for money, he is currently fine. On a high salary but no transfer fee. I believe his salary is around £8.6m per year. This makes him our 3rd highest earner after Son and Maddison.

In terms of buying him at the end of the season, this is where his value for money comes into question. If there is any transfer fee then that is lost money, we won't be selling him in future for any fee.

I think Levy is trying to keep away from buying players on high salaries and long contracts. If we buy Werner, it'll likely be on a free and a maximum of a 2 year contract.

If he signs with us on a free, he is still not over the hill. What 28? The thing I don’t get is, Lamela is wanked over on here by quite a few, for what actual reason? A Rabona in the 3rd tier of European football. I see Werner as hinesrly twice the player, with attitude and application. Yet our own fans say he’s shit, and quite a few say5)3 same about Brennan…. I simply don’t get it.

Great little cameo from him. Hope he continues to have some good moments for us and can leave with his head held high in the summer

I don't know how any of that is a response to my post.

Just watched werner put thr burners on past walker, things you love to see!

I like werner though, offers something wr don't really have from many which is getting past that last man woth the ball.

If he was composed in front of goal, would be one he'll of a player.

Passive aggressive, love it.
Just no idea what you're going on about.

I wrote a discussing the terms on which we'd likely buy the player.

You responded that he's not over the hill, which had nothing to do with my post then some random gobbledegook about some fans loving Lamela and hating Johnson.

All just weird, so I wrote OK to try to end the conversation there.

he would be Ronaldo R9, he just thinks to much I feel, I can see him with the ball ok the box and he delays, clearly the media *he cant score* thing has played on his mind. Go back and look at his time at lipzig, he was scoring for fun. It’s not a technical problem he has its on his head.

I've always backed him and genuinely believe that we look a better, more balanced team with him starting but realistically we shouldn't sign him. His performances show how desperately we need a player like him, not necessarily him. Our scouting system should be focused on finding the next Werner, a winger who actually runs at defenders and is a constant threat.
