Still seems a bit aimless though. Like he just looks to get a ball into the box rather than pick someone out. Tough game to come on in though when you're low on confidence.

Werner did well in his time on the pitch, might be struggling in front of goal but he’s still a quality footballer, gives us shape and troubled Palace.

Fucking bloke, I really like him. If he could finish on the reg then he'd be absolutely amazing. He gets into positions like nobody else in the squad which is why everyone spends so much time slagging him off, because he makes so many chances to miss and misses them. He is so tricky and so fast. The finish (that he put away) tonight was reminiscent of the season he popped of at RB where he just hammered it home like it was a training game. Just have that conviction every time Timo. Very close to a second on his left, and should have had a third also. Hell of a player if he could buy his shooting boots back from wherever the fuck they ended up.

Good finish for the goal. He's been in that position several times over the past few weeks and produced a tame finish - which he did again about 20 minutes after the goal. Hopefully he just wellies it now instead of softly placing the ball into the goalie's arms.

If he can get a run with some goals and assists hopefully it can keep most off his back. He clearly is struggling with confidence and while we know what we'll get with him, he is a decent player and he never kicks up a fuss and tries his best. Very pleased for him and hope it continues!

Two poor finishes aside he was brilliant last night. There were a couple of occasions where he was ready to absolutely fly and the player with the ball either delayed the pass or opted against it. If I was Ange I'd be saying look for Timo at any opportunity in games like yesterday when we have a bit of space in behind.

Yeah he'll likely fluff one or two here and there, but his movement at times is elite and he causes absolute nightmares for defenders with their back to goal.

He's a poor finisher in general, we know this, but I stand by what I say that we look good as a team when he's playing.

Can you squeeze him and Son into the same side with Solanke?

A lot of our best performances this season, Werner has played a decent chunk.

Delighted he got his goal. Agree with all those who said he needs to work with a sports psychologist. If he was confident and composed he'd have 4 or 5 goals already this season. His work rate, pace and positioning are all strong.
