That's a terrible idea. Edwards is nowhere near as good as Werner. Edwards isn't even a regular for Sporting.

Think this decision will be on a bit of a knife edge. He’s a good option from the bench but after a lacklustre second half of the season I wouldn’t be surprised if Ange decides to freshen things up with a younger signing.

imo the only plus for Edwards over Werner is being HG and club-trained...and I think we need better players than Werner/Edwards

Werner's abysmal decision making and yips in front of goal makes it a no for me. He's never going to rediscover his pre Chelsea form and isn't aggressive enough.

I think we'll try for a couple of alternatives but if they don't work out we'll go back to Werner.

We looked worse without him on the pitch. However as i have said before, if he is a squad option yes im interested. If he is the plan for first choice moving forward then its a no.

As a squad option he is a very good one and that's why I think we should sign him. He could essentially replace Gil and Solomon as our wide left rotation option and he is much more effective then either of them. It's a total no-brainer for me.

If we don't offer the £17m I can definitely see someone else coming in and doing it. Also I don't think it would be that difficult for a lot of teams to negotiate a slightly reduced wage. Unless he has his heart set on staying with us I doubt another loan will be an option.

I'd keep him; his underlying numbers are good, he is muy rapido, and I think he's a good fit for the squad. That being said, we must offload Solomon and Gil, and bring in another top-class winger and striker.

Keep Werner, sell Gil (and probably Soloman). The net spend either way will be negligible, but we streamline the squad and get a player who as a rotation produces perfectly decent figures. Seems like a decent bloke too.

As a squad option for £17mil mabye but he should be absolutely no where near our best XI and we should be looking to sign a striker and top top class winger in addition to Werner, if so then I’m mabye ok with it.

Which youth have we got that offers anything like what Son offers? We want to compete in the Europa, I would trust Werner to fill in for Son in those games.
