We can agree to disagree. I see from that 2nd half someone who can pick a pass but who can't withstand Bournemouth's pressure. His average position in the game is going deeper and deeper; i don't know if it's because no one else can move the ball forwards, but my impression (and this is just that) is that he feels less pressure doing so, but that's exactly what the opposition wants you to do.

I feel that he is a smart guy who wants to do the easy thing. I don't think this is a good quality. I much rather him be like Lamela or Moura; they lose the ball a lot too, but they never shy from trying to carry the ball forwards and confront challenges.
Did you actually watch the game? How on earth was he going to get the ball without dropping deeper?

If this guy could have a similar athletic transition that Dembele had under Poch he will be a boss.
I remember Dembele looked to struggle a lot before Poch arrived. He didn't always seem 100%.
I think Ndombele is a strange one because he does also have an unusual movement which makes it look like he struggles.

Are you serious? You seen the size of him? You don't need to play games to not be fat and overweight.

He never telegraphs a pass, his passing is quick, disguised and accurate and he sees the right pass instantly. Last night he started carrying the ball forward preparing for the movement ahead of him to make the pass, there wasn't much but he found the man on all but one occasion. It highlighted how poor the others are, every time Winks passed it I knew where it was going before he'd made the pass, I didn't know where Sissoko's pass would go but then neither does he. I kept thinking if there's any truth in the Barca stuff he should go, at least they've got players to benefit from his skills but I hope he doesn't.

Get a class DM behind him and lo celso and try get him a bit leaner then we may start getting some great performances. To many average players around our quality ones.

45 min from this guy made me realize how low technique standards we currently have for most of our players. It's just unbelievable. When he came on his first touch was an accurate first ball pass forward, then he run to the wing and again made a first ball very decent cross. And I was like shit, midfilders can do that? Maybe 3 other players in our team that can do that: Kane, Lo Celso, and Son. But the real Son. Not the fake one they send us from Korean army.

Another example, ball in the air, Sissoko tries to get it to the ground. No players around him in 10 meters. Beng, the ball bounces off his calf and he looses it. The same ball comes to Ndombele, Bour player approaches him and with one touch he gets ball to the ground, push it forward and go past players.

The best/worst thing is that it wasn't event some unbelievable performance from him. He was sharp and different to all our players but you could see he doesn't have much game time in his legs. But technique-wise his like 71234896123 miles away from all our midfield players. Yesterday he was the only player who when received the ball I was thinking: ok maybe something will happen now.

But we need players around him making runs. Bergwijn and Son would be the obvious choice. No idea what's wrong with Son but he's just doing everything wrong now. I would honestly put Lucas instead of him. We need Lo Celso next to him to retain possession. And good DM which we don't have. But man, this guy has to play.

Even when rusty and with no movement in front of him, his skillset stood out. One of the most unique players in the league.

He’s just so much better than all of our other midfielders.

It’s not like he’s trying to break into an established midfield which is dominating games. To not give him game time is just criminal from Mourinho.

I don’t think he done his chances of more appearances this season any harm last night. I think it’s always going to be instead of Lo Celso rather than alongside though. Mourinho obviously wants a tight disciplined midfield and having two technical flair players in there together is not it.

Do you not think Lucas coming on for Sissoko might have something to do with him dropping deeper?

Probably. We needed goals, so that's another explanation. But someone with Tanguy's skill set should be playing higher up the pitch not deeper.

Never been a huge fan of Skipp as he's still raw but Jose has to play him DM behind Tanguy and GLC. That's the only way to give us a competitive, creative midfield.

Tanguy did well last night despite not having match fitness. Miles better than everyone else.

I agree with this. The general lack of technique and movement in our team is absolutely crazy

I wouldn't be against a total re-haul. Sell the plodders, build the team around Ndombele, GLC, Son, Bergwijn

So worrying how sh*t this squad has become

Superb post. He is the only player we have who can pass vertically through the lines, I would also be interested to see how it would change Gio's game. I can't help but feel that in a more aggressive midfield in terms of passing Gio would also improve greatly.

He was ok last night. Initially thought he was great but there was some questionable decisions and execution on his part for a few things but on the whole it just looked down to rustiness rather than anything else which is completely understandable.

He needs to start every game until the end of the season to see if that can help him. Couldn’t give a shit about results at the moment.

As we've been saying since he arrived. He's clearly talented and offers some of what we are so sorely lacking - he needs consistent game time.

This season is over for us so if he plays Ndombele and we ship a couple of goals, but is ready for next season then I think it's worth doing.

I feel the same about blooding some of the youth - Cirkin, Skipp and Tanganga/Parrott back if/when fit. This season is done, let's try and build for next.

Best way to get into shape is by playing actual matches. Winks, Sissoko and others can't be upset because they aren't good enough, even if they train harder.

I have no doubt that if Mourinho just put his arm around Ndombele and genuinely tried to work with him, it wouldn't be like this. But instead he only knows how to be an asshole.

He is a grown adult on an abundance of money, playing football for a career and that should be enough motivation, fuck putting an arm around him!
