He looks dapper as fuck in that photo with the Yankee hat on!

There could be something in it about him layering up to sweat off. He's effectively cutting, getting rid of any excess. Could explain why he's not playing much due to a temporary lack of energy as a result?

He probably just tried to do his hair himself during lockdown and effed up the back - the beanie is hiding a mistake which looks like he's lost a fight with a lawnmower.

He’s the only person in todays pictures wearing full body covering and a seemingly woolen beanie on the hottest day of the year. It’s just a weird social misfit and cannot be rewarded with gametime. On the other hand he’s too talented to sell and take a major loss - and the precident cannot be set of agitation in the press and refusal to play getting traction...so it’s going to be a long war of attrition in the press. Maybe by year 3 he’ll present professionally because I don’t see us selling at a loss nor (correctly imo) do I see Mourinho coming further to accommodate him. He will eventually have to lose the pounds the clothes and the ghetto attitude because is ‘soldiers’ or nothing in a Jose system. For next year I think we’ll use Fernandez in the right of 3Cm position more.

This might be the worst post i've seen on this forum. You are both ignorant and wrong in this post. Additionally the "ghetto attitude" comment is racist.

I think you need to go have a word with yourself on this one.

Heavy Jewelry, rings necklaces, brand clothing, facial hair splashed to the max. Like in gansta rap culture. Put another way the sort of stuff that would be plainly out of place in a corporate environment... are we so pc that my comment is ‘racist’ or inappropriate now!? Actually spare me the answer I don’t care to invest the time debating a point which is beyond obvious to me.
There's nothing to debate. "Ghetto" and "street" are at the very least racially loaded terms, and it's sad you can't see that.

"Political correctness" is, to quote a good Vox article, simply a term used by someone to dismiss an idea that makes them uncomfortable.

Or, in other words, a way to dismiss issues as frivolous in order to justify ignoring them.

Educate yourself.

Properly depressing.

What a shame we have to discuss our transfer record for all the wrong reasons instead of his performances on the pitch.

To me it seems an entirely legitimate observation that he takes a certain ‘street’ mentality if you prefer that language which sad the same thing perhaps without being accused of racial undertones. Or he’ll the kid who’s ‘too cool for school attitude in training last in the pack’ if I have to go all nicely Ali Gold to make the same point!

For gds sake grow up people, black lives mattering doesn’t mean that a particular cultural behavior now is ‘equally acceptable’ in the professional work place. Again Mourinho wants to work with soldiers (as did Ferguson) married simple haircuts no frillsno standing out from the team and so do I.

To bolster the point Ive read a poster in the last 24 hrs who I consider a reliable ITK say that he turned up to the training ground with two friends, all with trousers below their butts and Mourinho went mad andbanned them from the training ground and sent him to train alone when he refused to warm down properly. Could it all be smoke...perhaps but it fits the personality I perceive- And yes Mourinho has form for falling out, is a snide narcissistic bully who lacks empathy- but right now it’s all good with me that he’s our manager until/if he fails and that style of sociopathy is the best chance we have to over perform to the point where we may realistically be able to win things.
You definitely helped Prince Andrew write his answers to that car crash Epstein interview.

It would have been easier taking the original post, highlighting the use of the word 'Ghetto' and then, as a group opening this up in the Racism thread - it's exactly the kind of thing that some posters have been trying to highlight.

I don’t think he could be any more different to Sissoko as a footballer if you tried ?

agreed. Totally different players. Ndombele should be our 10. That’s his best role if we arent going to play 3 in midfield. at worst he can rotate with Dele. Frankly, I think he’d actually be more creative and a better link to spring the front 3 than Dele is.

The saddest thing is that @mugpunt has so bought into his own nonsense prejudice he can't even see how ridiculous it is. In every interview Ndombele has done he comes across as a pleasant, humble, quite shy bloke. In terms of his personal character and how he generally comes across he fits none of the stereotypes mugpunt listed at all, yet apparently he's got a bad attitude, [insert racial stereotype], etc etc.

If we'd signed a white French player with the same personality, social media profile, etc. no fucking way would this kind of shit be coming up. Certainly not with all the loaded terms like "gangsta" and "ghetto".

Reality is, he's probably just struggling to adapt to a new league, a new country, and a manager with very specific demands. This could happen to anyone, and it's ridiculous and frankly quite racist to make huge assumptions about his character, based on some random piece of ITK you can't even show us.

NDombele and Lo Celso midfield with NDombele sitting deeper could be a dream midfield 2. Need to see him getting minutes soon. He’s way too talented not to be playing.

This is what I don’t understand. Ndombele has no defensive ability or reading of the game but has great ability on the ball to unlock things. Lo Celso is tenacious, gets his foot in and can transition from deep. Why would anyone want Ndombele as the deeper of the two?

Interestingly I saw an interview with Klopp where he spoke of his first meeting with Mane. He talked about how Mane dressed like a rapper and his aloof demeanour didn't seem like he cared very much.

Klopp admitted his impression was completely wrong. I hope in time you will learn how ignorant what you said is.

He hasn’t shown much effort lately but I’ll disagree he has no defensive ability. He was fantastic defensively in the first City game of the season.

But he and Lo Celso won’t work in a 2.

As a person of colour, I'll simply say that the opinions expressed by you exemplify why Black Lives Matter is so important. Intolerance, ignorance and bigotry all rolled into 1 post and doubled down with "pc gone mad".

But I do have to thank you, because Ive used your post to show my 15 and 12 year old exactly what intolerance looks like and why they need to be the agents of change.
I quoted public facts about his dress and demeanor and I’m an intolerant ignorant bigot by your description...

I think your post and educational philosophy you’re imparting to your children is misguided, color blind and simply wrong mindey evangelical- I wish you luck in educating them for their future as I wish myself on mine, but I couldn’t disagree more with the responses on here and don’t care to debate the point further in the midst of the present culture riots.

I’m sorry that people cannot see just how reactionary and soapbox they’re being and how ‘Ghetto’ though racially loaded is not an expletive or racist word requiing being expunged from the English language in the context of debating an athletes professionalism. Call me a racist and ban me if that is where societies now at but insinuations of a 1000 cuts are a fa more insidious way of fighting a culture war.

Im sorry that I don’t have the ability to source the ITK I referenced at present, but as the almighty is my witness it will certainly be found by someone who cares enough to search ( I don’t).

I can both notice N’Dombelle’s apparently, ‘respectful disposition interpersonally‘ with the simultaneous contradictories like dress, presentation, social media presence, entourage and background pr team and how this will affect our (happily) old school managers judgement paradigm. Im sorry I don’t care if you’re insensitive to the rebellious energy detrimental to team building that a certain dress and ‘energy’ invokes but even now mine still remains a legitimate perspective - I.e. that dressing in a way that’s uniquely outside of the cultural norm amongst your colleagues can be perceived as arrogant incongruity and egotism-qualities detrimental to success in a team sport which exposes the weakest links in a group. Dressing down at the weekend isn’t ok for a highly paid and driven professional whose every action should be discrete and developmental if the target is to reach the Balon dor level. Compare the public persona of the very best Messi and Ronaldo with the not quite make its like Nemar for example.

The idea that the beanie for example ( which he wears sitting on the bench rain or shine) is some exercise tool to generate extra sweat and is a symbol of his workrate and commitment is beyond ridiculous both as a practical idea and as a credulity question from its exponents. Whether intended as such or not it’s a statement of differerence with everyone else in the squad which rightly or not invites questions as to his commitment to the group. People not seeing this aren’t being ‘woke’ but wak Imo. I’m done with this now and won’t be responding further because I’ve more important thing to do than debate the obvious on the internet. Have a great summer y’all

You saw he was wearing a hat and tracksuit in the middle of summer and immediately jumped to the conclusion that it was 'ghetto' and indicative of a bad attitude. In every photo of him out of training I've seen he dresses very similar to plenty of other footballers.

Maybe he's actually trying to lose weight by wearing extra clothes in the heat as someone suggested. Since when was a spurs tracksuit and a black beanie much of a statement anyway?

Either way it was a massive leap to make, and if the club thought his clothing was detrimental to his training he sure as fuck wouldn't be allowed to wear it.
