Yeah he just doesn't seem to get the leeway that these guys are getting. He's not been horrendous at all and in quite a few games he has been our best player or made the best impact! However people are treating him as if we have signed George Weah's "Cousin". This is all because the board has self perpetuated it, what is someones opinion as a post gets stated and shared so many times that it becomes fact, such as his "bad attitude" or "200k a week wages". This is almost verging on Daily Mail v Raheem Sterling levels; FYI not saying that anything is racially motivated in this discussion! More that something small can get the crowds whipped up into a fervour and this perpetuates.

Agree with a lot of this . What did for him was the 2 minute strolling film on Twitter . ..plus Jose's obvious displeasure

On the other hand we do have that incredible YT clip of his highlights for Spurs

Love and Hate, two sides of the same coin..( They say :cautious: )

Magical players don't come often..Ginola..Gazza..and Ndombele is another one rare player that can produce magic out of nothing.

Really hope he can turn the tide and turn into the player everyone is hoping he can be.

I think people justifiably expected more than a few 30 minute cameos from our club record signing

and a basic level of match fitness

comparing to Bale and Ronaldo is nonsense given they were teenagers and Modric showed way more in his first season than Tanguy ha
we don’t throw money around and when we do and it fails to pay off it also means someone as tight as levy will be much more cautiousabout spending in the future

We really need to review how and whom scouted him, as it would appear from the outside that this my not have been as thorough as it needed to be. I don't doubt that he was decent in the two games for Lyon v City in last seasons CL, but other than this I would have expected a really deep analysis of the player and his personality based on the amount of money we were spending.

Maybe we were aware of his all his inconsistency, but took a bet that Poch would enable him to reach his potential, as he did with so many others ?‍♂️

Where is the evidence that he’s fat? What is his ideal weight? Lukaku was called fat for the longest and doesn’t look any different now scoring goals

In this day and age, players like Bale, Modric, Berbatov would have been binned after a season. Ronaldo wouldn’t have made it here either.

I remember loving Modric in his first season, I certainly don’t recall questioning his work ethic and commitment.

Bale was a kid. If Ndombele was 17 or whatever I think most would be a bit more forgiving.

Berbatov wasn’t that bad either. It’s a fair comparison as both have that style that appears half arsed (and both amazingly skillfull) but Berbatov was a striker and will be judged on goals. He smashed the Europa league in his first season and finished the prem on 12 goals from 33 appearances. Not to shabby at all for a debut season in the EPL.

I’m all for Ndombele to be given another season but I don’t think I can recall seeing a new player being this lackadaisical in my time supporting spurs and, imo, is nothing like the Bale, Modric and Berbatov first seasons (for different reasons) No way should we be tolerating another season like the one he’s just put in.

I believe that the changes haven’t helped him mid season. I think that a Full pre season will help him. It’s way to early to judge. With all his shortcomings he makes such a difference when he plays. Provides passes that others cannot see.

That’s the thing people forget he could play like that for us and think he’s he next Ali Dia.
No they don't. Everyone knows how good he can be; the frustration around him has been that he hasn't been that player for us more often than not. We all know that he's a class act when he brings his A-game, people just wanted him on the pitch and bringing that A-game with him, which he largely hasn't done so far.

Geez that's a stretch putting him anywhere near that company on what we have seen so far - more of a less talented Dalmat at the moment

Berbatov was an immediate hit. Bale also started well, changing managers a few times stunted his development. Modric didn't have a position when he was first signed - I seem to remember him pulling England apart from the left wing before we signed him.

Short memories.

Ronaldo. Really?!

You're right about the first three. But Ronaldo struggled in his first two seasons. If Queiroz hadn't sorted him out and turned him into a forward, he'd never have made it.
