I'm sure this will get a few of the residents riled up but he wasn't this bad under Poch. Mourinho's style of management has not at all helped with him and seems like he's shutting down. He played more under Poch, was more influential and tried much harder. Thinking back to the Man City game early in the season and he was a monster defensively at the end of the game making tackle after tackle to stop their attacks.

I've no doubt Poch was a huge reason we were able to convince him to join and now he's got this new guy who calls him out to the press.

2 goals, 3 assists in 14 games under Poch. 0 goasl, 1 assist in 13 games under Mourinho. Its the managers job to make the most out of what he has available. Our record signing, and imo possibly our most talented player, has gone backwards under him and he seems like he'd rather make a point than try to make it work. To up his fitness he needs to play, to me its clear as day Ndombele needs to be encouraged rather than called out to give effort on the field. Play him as a 10 with Lo Celso and whoever else behind him doing all the running, we're already horrid defensively its not going to make any difference.

I agree with your point on him playing better under Poch but how many of those games did we win compared to Mourinho's matches. The manager has to set up the team to win and not just to get the best out of one player I'm sure you'll agree. If JM sees that Ndombele creates a defensive liability through his lack of work rate on the pitch I'm sure no amount of assists will make him an attractive choice compared to Winks and Lo Celso.

I really hope he can turn it around but after seeing Paul Robinson's inside information on the topic I can really see why Mourinho has called him out.

When players are publicly criticised they deal with it one of two way: they buckle down and prove the detractors wrong or they turn on the critics and say "eff you, I'll do what I want". The Instagram post from Ndombele whilst potentially innocent does not indicate the mentality of someone with a point to prove. It's seems to be more of someone who's not interested in heeding the warning of his manager.

I hope I am wrong.

Some are implying he was good under Poch when in fact he was just as a waste of time and a waster of his own talent and suggesting he has gone backwards is wrong . He is in the same place which seems to me a liability rather than an asset .
If he was a youth team player and was criticised I think most youth players would try to prove detractors wrong but he seems to not give a toss one way or the other . Nothing would please me more if at the end of the season I was proved to be completely wrong but I definitely won't be holding my breath .

He was touch and go under Poch. There were some games where he really turned up and then there were games like Brighton (A) where he was really poor, but we gave him the benefit of the doubt.

He really wasn't that great at tracking back or doing anything other than passing under Poch and, under he had the ability to play with Kane, Son and even Eriksen who was OK at the very beginning of the season.

It's not really a fair comparison in terms of what he did with the ball.

Without it, he really was not much better.

Why do our fans want to rip our players apart, fat shaming someone who isn't even fat.

If I was Ndombele I wouldn't want to play for us at all, your first season in a new country should be so much more forgiving this.

Our fans are toxic and turn on our players and people wonder why we can’t attract certain players. Players talk.

Any set of fans would be disappointed if they saw what we are getting from someone who is our record signing and earning as much as Kane. The cost per benefit ratio is way off with each of them. People can give the excuse of 'its his first season' etc. In that case, you dont deserve the massive wages if its going to take a year or more to become competent at your job.

That argument never sits right with me. If you demand the salary, you need to perform. In no other walk of life would you be given a year or more grace.

I think that he is an archetypal Mourinho type player. Whether Mourinho's psychology works remains to be seen but I think that he probably sees him.as a big part of his plans.

Ye it's going to go down really well with the 6 or 7 played behind him doing all the shitty dog work defensively while he strolls around not even attempting to work or show for his team mates.

No chance hes going to be playing as a 10. I'd rather a half fit Lamela playing as a ten because at least he'll chase a defender down, make life difficult for the opposition.

We dont need a passenger who might only come alive once every 30 minutes when he gets the ball.

So i finally got round to watching carraghers analysis on him. It was bad to watch, he was hiding and just couldnt be bothered to run. But when he got the ball hes quality. Mourinho has a big job trying to get the best out of him when he doesn't have the ball.

Yes, even if a professional PL player is off form or finding the transition from one country to another difficult, the very least he can do is to put in some effort.

But we don’t know what is going on behind the scenes. There are probably other factors that are affecting his performance
