He's the perfect Dembele replacement, will be an absolute star. Just gotta manage him this season.

People questioning his 'attitude' because he's injured are stupid, we need to look after players when they think something is wrong with their bodies. Let's hope he can get back to full fitness ASAP and can buy a great DM to free him up in matches.

He’s got previous for it, go and read about him rather than just looking at him on Fifa. This isn’t the first time his fitness and application have been questioned.

I have read about him ffs. So you're on about his apparent attitude problems when he was 17 years old at Amiens? Which he then overcame by playing 2 seasons in the French 5th division, then earning a move to one of France's top 3 clubs?

That’s the badger. Nothing stupid to think there’s a connection. That clip against Bournemouth from earlier in the thread which was embarrassing, comments from Poch post game when snapping at a reporter, now Jose doing the same...a lot of smoke without any fire.

Christ, change the record. It's like you want him to fail. His fitness and application were questioned 5 years ago when nobody thought he'd achieve anything and he subsequently worked his arse off to improve himself.

What an absolute load of bollocks. I think he’s got exceptional talent. There’s more to this than an injury though.

Then he got paid like a King and forgot it's about kicking that ball around and staying in shape. When he rediscovers that, we might have a really fine player on our hands, if he remembers it's not always about highlight moments and more about 90 minutes.

Is there? How can you possibly know how he deals with an injury when I'm pretty sure they're the first few significant injuries in his career?

Not hard to tell when someone is out of shape though is it? And that was with a pre-season. You think one thing, I think another, move on?

I think a groin injury is difficult especially when your game is twisting and turning. He cant play a little injured as it's to precarious to chance that kind of injury.
Mourinho war words dont help in that case. He is asking for trouble.

Of course there's more, maybe "the more" has to do with the shitshow he signed up to join. I just think this whole debate is getting misdirected from the real issue.

We don't look good, 'cause we aren't very good. We aren't very good, 'cause we've neglected squad requirements all over our defence, WBs and CBs; we have no CDM we can trust defensively, because.....

How folks are getting on our new signings in the midst of this, makes no sense to me. I've read...Tanguy eats too many chips, Lo Celso is just a Tiki Taka footballer unsuited to the PL, Sessegnon...ain't a WB or a WF...!.

We, basically don't have a functioning defence. That affects everything! We have no CDM that can really defend that vulnerability behind him.

Till we sort out our defence, and that will take money, we're going to see the same performances from both our established and new players.

So much going on here, he's clearly our best midfield player atm and it is not close. In the future he need a defensive partner and he needs to get himself in shape.

He looked fat and absolutely knackered 20 minutes into his first preseason appearance against Juventus. I don't know if it has contributed to the injuries or he's just been unlucky but he needs to take his fitness much more seriously going forward. I hope the club has made that abundantly clear and are providing him the necessary resources.
