Cannot remember how many times he held up the ball, sharp turn then glided away from a Norwich player like Moussa used to do. Have seen him do this in the Champions League against top teams. What surprises me is his passing. He doesn't pass for passing sake, his passes are incisive and really get us into strong positions quickly. As he gets physically stronger I can see him being a very Gazza like player.

100%. NDombele has REAL creativity. He actually knows where other players are are hits them 90% in space. Its very different to even an Eriksen who short passes, prods and looks for the opening, Ndombele hits medium passes quicker (Not comparing their roles mind you) Gazza was instinctual too I agree. Looking forward to us getting quality on defensive side,in an excellent DM to back him up.

I was more suprised at how little the commentators picked up on his skills. You could see he was the best player on the park and the roulette he did in the second half to take out 2-3 Norwich players was insane.

His value is in creating. That's a natural talent. That's hugely different than something learned

This guy is the reason I watch football for.

As a kid Hoddle made me dream, I believe this player has the same potential to make todays children do the same.

Will save mourinho from fan disgruntlement. Which is another plus, halts the negativity from his dull long ball direct football that is already apparent.

He will add some spice to mourinho's paint dry football which is a big plus for positivity around the club

I am but surely everyone has noticed its no longer free flowing possession football?

In the first half of Norwich we played the most long balls in a half with lo Celso and Eriksen in the team.

It can be effective and if it gets us points I'm not complaining, big believe in mourinho bringing a trophy and good time for our ageing squad, but I'm worried it'll turn sour and I fear spurs fans will get on his back when results don't go our way after his honeymoon period with the football he plays. I like mourinho though think he can add a winning mentality we've been missing

I noticed the lack of possession based, free flowing football, way before Mourinho arrived!
Let's be honest, we've not had that for over a year so it's one hell of a turd that Jose's currently trying to polish.

I find it absolutely staggering he's gone from pulling out of the Brighton match through injury to completing 97 mins against Norwich, looks like he needed the public kick up the arse from the manager.

Funny those who were unhappy with Jose after the Brighton match for calling him out but something had to be done and it looks like it's worked.
Post hoc ergo propter hoc (I'll save you with Wiki search "after this therefore because of this"). Shady, it doesn't surprise me that you've gotten caught out by this. It's fallacious thinking. He and Jose (by Jose's own words) were looking toward the Norwich game anyway. It was reported by AG. The kid's played like this in most games he's featured so it perhaps had little to do with Jose's words. But it sure works for your agenda doesn't it?

I actually agree with you more than disagree. I was just reacting to your descriptors of "dull" and "paint dry" football re Mourinho. I disagree that "it's no longer free flowing possession football." We didn't have that brand of football for Poch's last year in charge. Think another poster responded with the same point before I got to it.

I think our squad deficiencies, particularly across our whole backline and with our CDM options, is the real issue whoever our coach is.

Poch's gone, but his line re the "painful rebuild" of the squad was spot on.

I didn’t watch the game but how did he do in the last 10/15 minutes, was he still full of running or was he dead on his feet?

It comes very naturally to Tanguy. As you say, the weight of a simple looking pass can make all the difference. He sees things I’d say not even Eriksen does

I don’t think they’ll get on his back too much. The drama queens have kicked up a fuss a bit, but when we don’t sign Carvahlo, Essien, Drogba and Matic they’ll be fine.

Results are all that matters to Jose. He’ll play whichever way he believes he can get them. I find it amusing people see him as a simpleton when it comes to tactics/formations etc
He has forgotten more about tactics than someone like Pep will ever know

Eriksen is a different player,he is more conservative,so takes less chances and prods often with short passes looking for space. Ndombele is much more instinctive I think,he sees the space immediately and can hit something and make us gasp. He also takes more chances (its the other side of the coin) so we could get hurt too but so far his percentages are a lot to the good as he has a lot of control even with that. Eriksen is safer but the time it takes sometimes with his prodding often ends up with no space at all. Both are different but both good in their own way
