For me my only problem with Ndombele is he has often lost the ball in the middle third of the field and near his own penalty area .
Also he seems to runout of steam after about 75 minutes . If he can address these faults he will be outstanding as a player for our team .

He’s not a defensive midfielder though and we’d need two of them if we’re going to let the top 4 have the freedom Mourinho has granted them.

I can’t see him being happy not being involved higher up the pitch.

By not buying players that fitted his system Poch tried to change a winning formula and things fell apart.

Why do you say that? Poch was overly cautious, setting up without enough attacking intent at home against bus parkers, producing a long series of sterile first half performances often without a proper shot on target. We need to force the issue, get in front, then we can pick the opponent off on the counter as they venture out.

Besides, till Jose signs a beast to break up the play alongside him, we won’t have any real evidence to judge your claim.

Lastly, you’ve obviously not spotted the enhanced tracking back by Son and Kane in the system? Not that free, are they?

Dembele is/was much better at protecting the ball.

Ndombele has been very inconsistent so far, which is to be somewhat expected with him being in a new league and the niggles he's had. There's been games where he's looked like a superstar, but also games where he's looked like Fred.
The games he’s looked like Fred he actually looked like Fred did yesterday when he actually managed to look like a good midfielder.

Ndombele is a high risk player... players that will unlock defences etc will always lose the ball more because theyre playing the high risk passes but higher risk passes tend to be more fruitful. Anyone can keep the ball by playing sideways.

Dembele is my fave player of all time the way he can shield the ball etc but he never played the type of balls and passes that Ndombele did and does. It stands to reason that Dembele would rarely lose the ball because of that.

The the rough with the smooth in my view with Ndombele.

This is so true. While he's still adapting to the league and finding rhythm and fitness he will undoubtedly lose the ball quite a few times per game failing to pull stuff off. However, when he's got his eye in he's our one true difference maker in midfield, and one of the most unique passing talents in the entire league. If we want to actually win anything and challenge for silverware, I'm convinced that getting the best out of Ndombele will be key, especially with Eriksen on his way out.

His performance against Brighton was the one of the worst performances from anyone this season. He looked like he was drop off from another planet and never kicked a football in his career.

He's been given the ball away too easily on simple passes too. And getting caught on the ball trying to do 100 things at once in our defensive third.

Thats him adjusting to the pace, he is clearly expecting more time than what he is used to... some of the simple passes have been amiss... i think he will get better and is clearly skillfull but needs to get up to speed of the PL.

I remember Fabinho taking his sweet time was it five or six months and now look at him? Whilst different players the point is it takes some time... and not like Ndombele has come into a high flying team, its been very stop start with our signings this year

Im hopeful and expectant that Ndombele will turn out to be brilliant

I'm not worried about him, but I don't think we should pretend that's he's been great so far either.

Agreed - he has shown glimpses so far and only glimpses... will certainly be interesting to see what happens going forward under Jose

This guy is clearly quality, but I'm sorry, it's an absolute joke how unfit he looks, it's December!

He looked like he was running backwards trying to keep up with play at points on Saturday. Clearing mega talented but needs to seriously up his work rate.

He needs 100% dedication. Sort out the weight and fitness issues, and with the attributes and talent he has there is nothing to stop him from being the new essien

Ndombele. needs to get fit
Lo Celso needs opportunities
Sessegnon needs to know what position he is going to play along with a chance to play
Sort these three out and I am sure we will be a few per cent better as a team.

Something strange on the fitness front with him

There does seem something odd about his fitness. He played 90 minutes in 26 matches last year. That’s not bad - maybe not Kane-esque or Eriksen-like but way better than with us, so far.
More importantly, he seems like he’s exhausted after making a simple play even early in games, not just at the end of matches. That troubles me. Maybe it’s just his form of body language to look that way.
I’ll probably get reamed for this, but he needs a complete blood work up! There, I said it!

I think he's carrying a knock & is struggling to shrug it off. The were a couple of times on Sat when he looked as if he'd aggravated something in the shin/ankle area & looked ready to come off.
