No one has shouted anyone out to be fair. It's been a range of posts explaining how he was wrong in a respectful manner. Not hugely enjoying a person of colour raising something they feel is an issue and then seeing that person shouted down.
I think @punkisback was respectful and conscientious in his comment, and I highly doubt he’s averse to people disagreeing with him so long as they do so respectfully and in a constructive way.Not hugely enjoying a person of colour raising something they feel is an issue and then seeing that person shouted down.
See this is the thing; anyone of any nationality or race/colour can be homegrown. Iwobi is a nigerian who grew up in England and is Arsenal home grown; Dier is English, came through sporting's youth system and is not. Pogba is homegrown to united fans. If you think that only english players can be home grown then this is factually incorrect. I can understand you are trying to add some light humour to the situation; but the two are not equatable.I want us to stop singing ''He's one of our own''....to any homegrown players...i find it racist and hugely offensive ....?

Would rather not, thanks.Fuck me.
Only if you wear that scooby doo mask...Fuck me.
I agree that anyone who is praising Ndombele's physicality and calling him 'big, strong, powerful' is blind or lazy. The guy has the physique and gait of Andy Reid. However, he's got a brilliant football mind and a wonderful, unorthodox passing style and vision - that's where his brilliance lies.Hi mate, there was no accusation at all. I understand that the adjective was made to praise him. I just feel at times it can be used to reduce players to their physical characteristics and overlook their skill; where I understand now that you have used it in a way to describe his all round abilties as a player. I think Tanguy is probably one of the most technical proficient players we have had in years and I want him to be praised for that; rather than his physical attributes which in my opinion are not his strengths.

It's uncanny.
Is the original poster "a person of colour"? That's not a question I want an answer to... my point being this is an internet forum where I have no clue of the background (race and any other characteristic) of any of my fellow members, nor do I actually care. I don't enjoy people creating a racial slur out of a complimentary statement. It drives me mad the more words and phrases we need to be aware of and walk on eggshells around because someone new has recently decided it upsets them. And for the record I'm not white (not that you should care), so I'm not talking from a "privileged" position. Not hugely enjoying a person of colour raising something they feel is an issue and then seeing that person shouted down.
He is amazing, just needs to work on conditioning and defensive work. Kind of lucky in a way, if he was already good defensively he would probably play for City now, they were interested in him last year as a potential replacement for Fernandinho but they went for Rodri instead.
Actually your race IS irrelevant IN THE CONTEXT of this discussion. It has been proven on here that the term "beast" has been used indiscriminately to describe a number of different players for a variety of different attributes. I use Hazard as a prime example, no one in their right mind would use the term "beast" for him when describing his physical attributes, it's used as a description of his insane skillset when he's firing on all cylinders.I'm not saying that; but it has been disproportionately used. I'm not calling anyone anything; i'm just saying that sometimes use of the word perpetuates stereotypes and reduces footballers of colour to their physical attributes. Please read my initial links that I had sent; I agree that no one is using it in a negative fashion.
My race is completely relevant as i have had my characteristics stereotyped and prejudged because of my race/appearance and i know completely how it feels and the effect it can have. If you can't see or understand the value in my personal view and experiences as a person of colour and how it can add weight and credence to my argument then I'm sorry for you. In a perfect world we would all be judged equally, but this world isn't perfect.
Ndombele is creative. This is an art.
Let him do his stuff.
Give him too much structure and he maybe more
In the box when he should be out if it
We have enough structured players
That's why we went nowhere for 2 years
