Am I the only one who's blaming his positioning for the goals we conceded??

Didn't track Ricardo for the first and didn't tuck in alongside Wanayama for the second. Had he been in field Maddison would've likely passed it out wide.

Wasn't Ricardo behind Rose when he scored?

Rose was at the back post with one of their front men. Riccardo came in to the box and scored off the loose ball.

I just checked it again it looked like we had 3 white shirts in and around Barnes in the middle including Rose they were all watching Vardy I think
This was from the angle behind the goal
I fact it looks like Rose came from Ricardo's area and marked nobody.. He was ball watching

Players from the French league are almost always shit, it's no different to Grealish looking good in the championship.

Why do we never learn?
He looked good in the CL too. It’s disappointing that he doesn’t have the fitness but the ability is there.

It’s very rare nowadays a player comes into a top 6 team from a foreign league and hits the ground running from day 1. Rodri maybe this season but even he has looked off the pace at times. After that it’s a struggle to think of any in last 2 seasons.

Wanyama lost the ball so we were totally out of shape he was breaking forward then had to turn and run back. Completely blameless. Goals on wanyama and maybe Rose if you wanna be harsh. And 2nd goal is clearly wanyama job to close down.

Kante, Diego Costa, Ibrahimovic, Bernado Silva and Aubameyang didn't do too badly during their first season..

He will be fine. He is struggling with the tempo and intensity of the Premier League and clearly he is trying to build his fitness.

You can see his ability though, it's just very patchy at the moment as he is playing with what I call a 'glaze'. When he gets the ball a lot of the time he is knackered and makes tired decisions or passes. At other times the speed of the league catches him out.

That said, against Leicester Sissoko and Winks combined made 0 tackles, 1 interception and 1 clearance between them! Ndombele on his own made 4 tackles (joint highest with Rose), 1 interception and 3 clearances! He is clearly struggling with the intensity and is building fitness slowly but even then he still massively outdid both Sissoko and Winks in terms of tackling and defensive work.

It is also hindering him having to play as a lateral CM in the diamond. He needs to be partnered with a DM like Dier or Skipp to provide balance to the team.

That goes for Winks and Sissoko too. All 3 of Ndombele, Winks and Sissoko need to be partnered with a DM for our team to have proper balance. There lies the problem as Poch is obsessed with this shit diamond formation, with a lack of a DM to compound the issue!

Costa, Ibrahimovic and Aubameyang were experienced senior stars for respective team before that which made it easier. Kante is the one standing out making him an exception to the rule. Silva has done great, but it's hard to judge when you play in the City team. Everyone plays better simply because of the quality around them.

I did mean in last 2 or 3 seasons. Aubameyang yes but he was 28 and hugely experienced. Bernardo yes but he was still fed in, he didn’t have big pressure on him to perform immediately. My point is yes of course there are a few but they are getting rarer and rarer as the PL pulls away from the other European leagues.

50 mill + and we need to give him time?

Not good enough.

Yes, he's 22 in a new league in a new country and he's being asked to adapt to double training sessions and a faster and more intense style of play. Poch often holds players back for months to allow them to get up the right fitness level.

Three out of the last five Player of the Year awards have gone to players that came from the French League.

Kante and Hazard. Who's the third?

Van Dijk came from PL. Salah came from Italy. Vardy's only played in England.

In fact, in Premier League history, Kante and Hazard are the only two players to be signed from France and win Player of the Year. Henry and Vieira started in France but were signed from Italy.

Mahrez.

EDIT: Was PFA though.

Mahrez from Le Havre (Vardy was the football writers winner that year, I was looking at the PFA award).

This is spot on!
I don't think he expected the PL to be so physically demanding and as fast as it is.......plus Poch requires a certain work ethic, so all things combined Ndombele is downright knackered, physically and mentally.

The problem here isn't that he's a bad player, it's more a case of we desperately need him to step up because our midfield looks so light.
We're craving a player that can take control in the middle of the park and feed our attacking line - this should be Ndombele but right now he's just not there.

IMO i think we need to ditch the diamond. I'm not sure Winks and Sissoko truly get what they're supposed to be doing. Winks in particular always looks to me to be in two minds 'do i play it forward or do i play it back' - hence all the sideways movement. And as for Sissoko he ends up drifting to the right.
I say we put a combination of Dier and Ndombele/Winks/Sissoko, just in front of the back four (with Winks or Ndombele being given free reign to move up the pitch if possible) and then a 3 of Son, Dele/Lamela, Eriksen/Lo Celso just behnd Kane.

Hopefully this takes the pressure off Ndombele.

Not from our scouting network they haven't.
