Before his goal he looked a bit laboured and static but once he got the goal he looked like a player possessed. Early nerves reason for him gelling with his teammates and calling for the ball perhaps?

Lol I feel bad for Tanguy, Pochettino and Jesus are clearly licking their lips at the thought of getting him super fit. He’s just some tough gym sessions in his future.

6am starts

I think I ought to join them for those sessions - I bloody need it.

The difference being the sub of Winks made him the go to player when playing out from the back. Poch has decisions to make as Winks did not play poorly today or last week.

The moment he scored the equaliser, he started running back to center circle & urging everyone to kick to start the game again. To me thats a team player & a winner

He is going to be world class complete midfielder

There is no doubt whatsoever he'll be nothing short of world class, but he'll need time. Whether that's 3 months or 6 or 12. Just hope the fans are as patient as the coaching staff will be and keep supporting him. You can see the talent that's there.

Saw this as well. Was being hounded by the players to celebrate with him but he shrugged them all off and told them to refocus. He's gonna be a favorite here for many years.

Fantastic strike on his debut. Once he gets settled and Poch fit he is going to be an incredible player for us.

Him and Sissoko should scare the oppositions midfield shitless.

Can’t wait for him to build up a bit of rapport and familiarity with our forward players. There were a number of times today where he seemed to attempt what could have been a dangerous pass, only for the forward - Lucas in particular - not anticipate the move and go a different direction. Once everyone starts to gel together our attack will be flying.

Yeah I saw that on the highlights afterwards. Just what you want from a new player. More concerned with winning the game than celebrating his first goal for the club. A very good sign. He played too. I remember the player he was bought to replace scoring on his debut from distance too.

Imagine what he'll be like when he is 1. up to fitness with Poch's regime, and 2. fully adjusted to life in the Premier league.

Those little disguised passes are beautiful to watch, and will keep defenders guessing all day long. Son will have a field day latching on to those.

Will be really interesting to see how he performs against City. I remember how great he was when he played against them at the Etihad with Lyon. Bet their players are quite worried about him.

Once we sort out our formation and where he plays in it then we could have on our hands a very good player.
First half he played too high up the pitch and not effective.
The change of formation for the second half plus later the arrival of CE changed all that.
Played deeper second half, which gave him positions to play pasees, play disguised passes and move forwards with the ball.
A good start ?

Can't wait to see him and Lo Celso together. They both have a frightening amount of ability and I think they'll be genuinely world class once they iron out the wrinkles.

He'll be even better against teams that attack us as it will open up space for him to dribble into and play smart forward passes. Against Villa he had two banks of players between him and the goal.
