I don't know much about this player but since he has 2 goals from his year in league 2 and no goals in the 3 seasons for Amiens and Lyon in League 1 (He does have a few cup goals just nothing in 68 League 1 games for those teams) I assume he is a really really defensive midfielder?

Again, I really know next to nothing about him other than stats so please enlighten me how a player in midfield with no goals will be a signing that moves us forward to where we can challenge for the league title since a lot of our goals are scored by midfield. Maybe he is the assist king?

Remind me how many assists and goals Dembele had? Let’s not measure players by stats, hey?

He's a Dembele replacement. Dembele offered neither a plethora of goals nor assists. What Mousa brought and Poch wants Ndombele to bring as a player who has the dribbling ability and strength to drive forward our play through midfield, carrying the ball up the pitch and laying it off for our more attacking players to create and score goals.

Ndombele comes with the added advantage of superior passing ability to Mousa. It's not really about the stats but really how he'll contribute to the style of play that Poch wants.

Thanks. I really know little about him and no time to read over a hundred pages in this thread!!!

I did a detailed description yesterday. Hope this helps mate.

Oh, well why don't you step into my office. He's an elite box-to-box midfielder with incredible first touch and dribbling ability, as well as top-notch passing range and vision. You'll see people compare him to Dembele, which is partly accurate in terms of the strength and ability to progress the ball and get out of tricky situations with his dribbling. Ndombele, though, is smaller but a much more explosive athlete in terms of speed and quick-twitch movement. Defensively, he's stout, aggressive, and reads the game very well. Turns defense into attack rapidly. With all of this said, his best trait may be his high football IQ. Seems to know exactly where the ball needs to go before receiving the ball and has the ability to play every single pass in the book. At 22 years old, there's a reason one of the most sought after midfielders in recent memory.

For those interested in seeing the range of his abilities, this is a solid video that showcases what he's all about. It breaks it up by dribbling, passing, and defense. Note that some of his best contributions come against top teams like Man City and Barca in the UCL and PSG in Ligue 1.

I haven’t seen that much of him, but the little I have tells me he would be a great signing, particularly in being able to get the ball forward quickly with incisive passing.

However I do agree with you in that we could do with more goals from CM as Sissoko will never score and Winks doesn’t really contribute goals either.

Which is why I think it’s very important we sign Lo Celso too ( or if not him then another midfielder who can contribute goals from elsewhere).

Express saying PSG have "registered their interest", most likely bullshit given the outlet however I think PSG are the club I'm most afraid of hijacking this deal.

Well... If you keep dithering long enough, some other club is bound to emerge from the woodwork... :banghead:
Aulas literally said as soon as the transfer window opened he personally contacted PSG to invite them to bid for the player. They don't have to emerge from the woodwork they've been involved from the off.

Love the idea of the transfer 'hanging in the balance' because all of a sudden PSG remembered to tick the box where it says 'Are you interested in Tanguy Ndombele? Yes or No' ...

Makes a change from the Express telling us that Chelsea are going to lure Poch to the Bridge I suppose.

Don't the Express have an editorial policy of writing up literally every single permutation of any single event as its own dedicated article?

That's what it seems like from the article suggestions that show up on Chrome's home screen.

For the record, a lot of news regarding PSG and Allan in the recent days saying that PSG have intensified talks.

Think we can file this under bullshit.

Might be true, might be not. How often do you see these types of stories though.

People fill the silences how they wish, that goes for the media and fans.
