Hi, journalist here with 15 years of experience in the business - although news and not sport - and a good knowledge of how this stuff works.

It seems credible to me.

AG is a journalist who is drip-fed by the club. I have argued with him before about this saying he's too reliant on the club to hand him stories and therefore he's too close to piss them off. He denies this, as he would and should, but regardless of that it means in a case like this he's probably not talking out of his arse as he wouldn't rock the boat by reporting something completely untrue.

My guess is that he's heard it's happening and there will be an announcement soon, it's just he's trying to get in there first with the story without breaking any embargo or trust.

It's a classic carefully worded story and reading between the lines I'd say... it's ON!

stop, i can only get so erect!

His name is Jean Lucas - he’ll get in France based on that alone
Based on the AG update and the Aulas comments followed by the quick rumors for Jean Lucas, things appear to be moving very quickly. I know there are very few optimists out here (I mean we’re Spurs after all), but this thing could happen this week. Too much smoke in succession, too quickly for there not to be fire ?

Tanguy could be holding up a Spurs shirt by the end of the week ??

The kid has a 30 million euro release clause apparently.

That's good, because they won't be haggling over the transfer fee for weeks.

That said, I'm surprised he'd get a work permit; perhaps France have more relaxed regulations than the UK?

Lyon have a rep for buying cheap and developing so I really wouldn't be surprised if they do sign him to replace N'Dombele.

Looks like it will be between PSG, Man United and Spurs for N'Dombele.

I know Le Pari told us during the season that PSG were heavily interested in him, but I feel like we have a better chance due to FFP than they do.

If they sign De Ligt they will be on their FFP limit already. Can't see them spending the amount Aulas wants in that case.

Let's hope for some developments in the next 2 weeks so we know where we stand with Tanguy and Lo Celso.

Ally Gold is probably the most reliable media source we're going to get on the deal

If he's putting his neck on the line and says it's looking good, then we have to be happy with that
Not to sound like a broken record but Willian was also looking good...anything can happen.

This will surely get done. Only thing that could mess this up would be if Real started showing serious interest.

Well this will surely sour all of our days. TBF though, it is Soccer Link. I think we discussed this before, but they’re hit or miss.

Neymar want to leave, they’ll be fine on FFP

Considering the recent quotes from Aulas, them signing a CM imminently is a good thing in this saga. Especially with RM still fighting for Pogba. Fingers crossed we get the player, but the best thing either way is it gets settled early.

Yeah we need to hope that the Pogba saga drags on. Rumours today suggest he prefers a return to Italy, but they come from Italian sources so are probably hogwash. Given the size of the transfer I struggle to see any Pogba deal getting done quickly, so fingers crossed we can tie down Tanguy in the meantime.

If Real were to sign Ndombele surely they wouldn't also be able to afford Eriksen, so that's a slight positive.
