This transfer is pretty simple imo. Not like before when we'd try for a big player but we were their 3rd choice and weren't really motivated to come. Different ball game now. He likes us, Aulas is open to selling, a fucking steal at 63m (if thats accurate), no other issues or excuses. Pay it and we'll get him, simple.

City paying that for Rodri pretty much nails this being the fee that Aulas and Lyon want from Levy (my onion) ... We'll see how much Levy has changed.

Still not holding my breath after last summer.

I wouldn’t call it at steal at 63m but it’s not in the bonkers region that’s for sure. Realistically we’re probably not gonna get him for less so we might as well not bother if we’re not gonna get to that sort of number.

It may seem that simple but you never offer at the asking price because the asking price will go up. Aulas will broadcast it and suddenly say that somebody has offered 70!

Will we? Or will he get revenge on Levy for the Lloris deal and move the goalposts as soon as we've shown we have the money and are eager to finish the deal?

I’ve posted this umpteen times and every time I do, I get giddy:

N’dombers, Lo Celso, Sess and Clarke.

That’s a decent window. Now imagine we keep Eriksen and upgrade at RB after flogging Trips. I’d treat the whole clan to Cornettos if all this happened

Not sure that Lyon were stitched up over Lloris. Aulas is what the French call a ‘marchand de tapis’ - a carpet salesman. Think Arthur Daly. He (Aulas not Arthur) bought the player for 7M a year ago and 10 x 7M sounds like a deal worthy of his smart-ass self-image and a la Donald Trump he will say whatever it takes to get there. Anything less will seem like a defeat. He will ultimately accept less and he will moan about the small shiny domed one for being tight but that’ll be water of a duck’s back (or duck’s ass ;-)) to our fearless leader.

It all depends on how much they want or need to sell. There's obviously going to be a price where we rightly move along to alternatives (of which I believe there are many) if we've got £50-60m to throw around.

I think the Sess brothers together would complete things... they’re young and - psychologically - as a pair joining their integration would be less difficult.. as the spurs man Sir Norman Jay says: good times

You can nip this in the bud straight away.

Lyon are expected to make a bid for Thiago Mendes (central midfielder) in the coming days with Lille hoping to sell the midfielder for around €25M. [L'Equipe]
