As soon as pl club get involved the price goes up

I still fancy c£50m, possibly £55m is a good deal for Lyon seeing as he's only had two full seasons with them and cost them a fraction of that. He comes with a risk and that risk is that Ligue 1 is nowhere near the levels of the Premier League.

Personally I like him and I'd definitely take him but if we are talking £70m or anything in and around that, it simply comes with too much risk.

Ndombele, Lo Celso, Bale, all the kind of quality I think will add genuine quality to the squad but we aren't a Real Madrid or a Chelsea or Liverpool we operate within out means and a whopper like Tanguy is still pretty reckless spending for a club our size if it is c£70m.

Why out scouts didn't pick up on him & Lo Celso when both were available for what £35m combined is beyond me. Both have quality it's easy to see yet both will now cost around £135m compared to the £35m it would have cost if they were scouted and screened appropriately 12-18 months ago

It really doesn't matter, all that matters is that Pochettinho really seems to like him and looks to have waited patiently to get Ndombele. Personally I feel he's actually the type of player to improve us

Perhaps our scouts did pick up on them, but they didn't want to move to a bigger club yet. Eriksen turned down several big clubs a year before signing for us.

All that these stupid prices will do is make players run down their contracts. The players will then ask for insane wages.

The clubs are destroying themselves.

I don’t know but NDombele hasn’t impressed me. Have had doubts in my mind about this one. Wonder why everybody has been creaming themselves. Not fretting over this. I’d prefer someone who is more mobile and with a better first touch and to suggest he is worth 87m quid or whatever makes me laugh. Plus the fact he is Lyon stinks the whole deal up to high heaven. I can see us getting ripped off big time.

Because not many have seen him play much. I'm excited because everyone else is, and i suspect many are as well. We're sheep.
You may well be right and he'll be a dud.

I think he has all the raw materials to be a success but is not the finished article yet. If we can afford him then he is a risk worth taking as he is very much a Poch type player.

How fussy are you lot? First you complain about not spending any money, now you're complaining we're spending TOO MUCH money? He's not the best midfielder in the world, but he fills a massive hole that we haven't filled since Moose left. Don't see Liverpool fans complaining they spent too much on VVD, Alisson etc, partly because it's not even your money to care about ?

I don't think its so much fussy as in if we were City, Utd or Chelski we care less about how much is spent on the player due to unlimited funds in place but with Spurs as there usually is a restriction spending too much on one player may affect us signing another who is needed?

Because if they ask for too much money we wont buy him. Simples.

What Lyon or Betis paid for their players is completely irrelevant. If you paid £10 for something at a car boot sale and found out it was extremely valuable you would't think '£50 is 5x what I paid'. You'd want the price it was valued at. Ndombele is now a high profile player who would be a top class signing for just about anyone and if he's valued at £70m, somebody will most likely pay it. Same with LoCelso.

What exactly has Sissoko been doing for the last six months then?

You just saw the difference. LFC paid 160M for Allison and VVD. Each saved a goal today.

If this is level we want to play at, you have to pay for premier players. This is the one chance we have to do it.

Just need Levy to swallow his pride (although the current state of the squad isn’t all on him) and pay what needs to be paid early on in the window. As he’s one of the 2/3 signings that can take us to the next level

Take off Sissoko and lose ball carrying and breaking up play. Take off Winks and lose passing.

NDombele would allow you to have all of that in one. Ball carrier, break up play, pick a pass. No compromise.
