I think the depreciation value shouldn't even be considered. Levy is trying to sell Aurier for the same value we bought him at with only 2 years left on his deal. We shouldn't even be considering knocking the price off TND after a poor 12 months. An example of this is Morata who Chelsea purchased for £60million (potentially rising to £70m). He had two average seasons at Chelsea and the loaned to Atletico for 18 months and sold with an obligation to buy for £58million. We need to hold out and accept a price that's right for us.

I think there is clear sense in what you're saying, but I also think that Dragon1 has, mistakenly, quoted £42m as what was paid for Tanguy all along.

I agree with you on D1. I was only trying to explain why Levy would be prepared to accept £42 million, if it were true, as there seemed to be some confusion as to why he’d see that as getting his money back, when our initial outlay was greater.

I think what Ndombele needs (to be a success with us) is for Jose to have a proper 1:1 with him, cards on the table, and for Jose to tell him "You are my number 1 player and I will build my team around you, but only if you X, Y Z" ... and then tell him what is expected in terms of body language, injuries, defensive positioning, entourage press leaks etc.", and hope Ndombele steps up in a more carrot than stick approach ..... BUT there is no way Mourinho will pander to a player that has shown less commitment than other players like Lo Celso, Winks, Sissoko, Skipp etc. For Mourinho the group is more important than a star player. If Ndombele is not clever and driven enough to work out what he needs to do (and I think the mysterious knee twinge before the subs warm down after the restart shows he is not) then it is time for the club to move him on (on the clubs terms).

Well you're right but he tried to do 1:1 during lockdown and i'm sure he's had this conversation with him already, he's our record signing and Jose is/was new to the job so he doesn't want to come in and ruin that relationship intentionally or straight away without even trying or giving him a chance but from what we've seen and heard and from ITK's is that he's just not putting in the required effort or having the right attitude and so I can 100% see why in that case Jose would say ok if you don't want to buy into it then I don't care if you're the record signing, there's the door see you later and i'll use the money from your sale in the hard Covid market to improve the squad and buy players with the right attitude who love being here (Hoyjberg is a prime example of that).

I can see the logic in it and how a lot of clubs would in fact do that but it's Levy we're talking about and going by the reports in the press and ITK over the years, he rarely budges on his price tags for our players. Recently it took 2 season to eventually get shifted of Janssen and GKN for a fee that we were happy with, which wass buttons in comparison to the fee being asked for TND currently.

Top post mate. I think the reason so many are so bitter, heated etc about this is because they had/have romantic notions of him becoming some Mbappe type who was going to be the shiznit and it didn't happen and won't happen.

Aside from Right Back I think our midfield was and is our biggest area of concern. We have been so slow and ponderous for a number of years and we really needed some additions to add some creativity especially since Eriksen has departed. Losing Ndombele only becomes acceptable to me if we see one or two quality replacements coming in.

All I’ve taken away from the last few pages is @Spurrific only puts in half arsed performances at work and I’m disappointed in him. I ask you all this, how can we expect our players to show the appropriate application when we have such lazy fans?

The problem is not that Ndombele is too creative (as if such a thing could exist) it’s that he doesn’t work hard enough

It is as simple as that. And the not working hard enough isn't just about tearing about flying into tackles. It's about constantly getting into positions to show for the ball, tracking runners, getting back into shape quickly etc... He just never seemed to grasp the intensity that is required playing in the prem. It's such a shame because if he understood this and he would have played more games towards the end the season.But I can understand Mourinho not wanting to leave us open by letting him be lax in the centre of the park.

With him seemingly close to Sissoko i'm surprised the big man hasn't imparted some of his experience to Ndombele. Telling him how working hard eventually turned around his career at spurs. I can only think Ndombele must have agents and others telling him he should be playing and that Mourinho is the bad guy in all this, rather than telling him to get his head down.

For me there is something terribly wrong with the whole thing. He showed no interest in defending but Jose never tried in him a more forward role to see how he would react. Its like they both have their own ultimatums. Its the only truth that makes sense and you cant let one player dictate as a self centred player or at least lets see his genius if he really has and then adapt or not but this relationship hasnt moved one inch. If he is a creative talent,he has to know that all successful creative talents had to prove themselves first. Without discipline creativity goes nowhere
