"The great fallacy is that the game is first and last about winning. It is nothing of the kind. The game is about glory, it is about doing things in style and with a flourish, about going out and beating the other lot, not waiting for them to die of boredom.”

I wish some of you supported Tottenham Hostpur Football Club as much as you support a player who when played has shown a real lack of desire.

As a fan the first and foremost thing I want is to see respect for the club and yourself. Ndombele has shown neither.

And you're basing that on a man who hasn't had the opportunity since he last seen struggling to move with a groin injury, cool. Some of us are supporting him because it's a crazy concept I know but that having a player of supreme talent get bedded in would benefit the team in the long run.

He's had opportunists. Burnley away and Wolves at home where his work rate was abysmal.

If he was showing more than Sissoko and Winks in training he'd be playing. Jose doesn't drop grafters

I love the skills that Ndombele brings. He is a really silky player that brings some of the most valuable attributes in elite football, the ability to break the lines with both dribbling and passing.

That said irrespective of injuries I don't think hes covered himself in glory in trying to force his way back to the team. He's certainly not the type of player ready for a dog fight.

Right now it could well be the case that we have so many issues to resolve taking a big money offer for him could well be a necessary move to fund a rebuild. I don't want to lose him as I think he can still come good, but also because I'm not confident in how we could spend the cash wisely.

Ndombele is the kind of player that could make a good team great, but might also make a disjointed side worse. In an ideal world we fix the other positions and give him a platform to succeed. I'm not sure we have the funds for that.

The only upside of selling him to the likes of Barca or PSG is that he likely doesn't move on from there and come to the PL to haunt us like Salah or KDB. You could see him thriving at both sides.

He might just lack the fighting spirit you sometimes need to succeed on a weekly basis here. The only place you'd imagine he would truly excel is at City where they are so dominant he could be the icing on the cake. Even so pay attention to how much KDB grafts at City despite his unreal talent.

I find it a little hypocritical that we can apparently afford to carry Son, who has done absolutely nothing to keep his place as a guaranteed starter and barely tracks back anymore, but Ndombele can't even get off the bench.

Different players
Jose and Tanguy had a frank discussion in recent weeks where the air was cleared. There are no issues between the two now. There was at first though.
It really looks like that is true....yeah right

He’ll start against Bournemouth Thursday (I assume with arsenal Sunday) up to him now to take his opportunity.

If Jose isn't going to play him or think he's up to the task, we've got to sadly shift him, which is a crying shame as I can't remember the last time we captured a highly coveted talent like him (which he still is). If as mentioned, we're trying to bring in a DM in the shape of PEH to allow Ndombele and Lo Celso to bomb on, think he'd excel without having to do the work required of the midfield currently. I think even in Poch's insistence of changing from a 4231 to a formation with a diamond midfield, he would've been equally exposed, like the Bayern game where he was terrific going forward for the 1st half an hour but had Winks at the base trying to do the covering.

If Jose is thinking the 433 next season with a DM and two no.8's and Ndombele is going to go, I'd bring in Sabitzer as a replacement.

Sabitzer would be the replacement for one of Dele or Lamela... Sabitzer is nothing like Ndombele or number 8.

If we want to replace Ndombele, We need to replace him with someone like MilanKovic Savic. He is proper box to box DM and can play the role we bought Ndombele for.

Ah okay, I always assumed (wrongly) Sabitzer was a number 8. SMS would be superb, though.

I was excited when we signed Ndombele but he hasn’t shown anything on the pitch to show that he deserves to feature more often. I know our football isn’t pretty to watch but we’re working as a team and grinding out results. Ndombele is a luxury and he just doesn’t fit into the team ethic that Jose is trying to instil into the players.

Likewise with Alli, he doesn’t fit into Jose’s set up either. If you talk about our strongest XI there’s those arguing the Ndombele should feature but the same can’t be said about Alli. He was great when we 1st signed him but the last couple of seasons he’s been dross.

If and that’s a big if, we manage to add strength and balance to the squad at the expense of Ndombele or Alli then I won’t be too fussed if either of them are sold. At least with Ndombele the elite clubs are still after him and we shouldn’t therefore expect to take a hit on his resale value. Alli on the other hand, his value has taken a serious nose dive.

I’ve been a critic of Ndombele, mainly because he has looked like a liability defensively and doesn’t seem to know any of the defensive basics. Having said that, I can’t see how our team would be any worse with him in the team as teams play through us anyway and we create absolutely nothing.

It's up to him to show a point now.

Grab every chance he can have. If he doesn't bother than... well gg

Bingo, there is no way our team would be worse by throwing him out there instead of one of Winks or Sissoko today. Both incredibly average players.
