As i said he was not for the goals and assists. He always controlled the midfield. There was calm and he feed the forward players. He was very strong in recovering the ball. People would bounce off him. Ndombele is better in forward playing stuff but he is not the CM that dembele was.
I did mention he can and might become great but he is different type than dembele.
NDombele has done more through balls than Dembele did in eons (and don't get me wrong I thought Dembele was great but mostly in central not pushing it up,laying it off)

Did I said something else?

I thought you were inferring that they were a little different that NDombele wasn't at the point of where Dembele was.
I just think that Ndombele is more directly better in making the end product creating goals even now

NDombele is a far superior player to Dembele attacking wise but not as good defensively and in shielding the ball etc but he’s only 22. NDombele has a much higher ceiling.

Not sure why we're comparing the two. It's like comparing Sissoko to Alli. Different type of player entirely.

Bang average player imo

Loljk

But on a serious note; he score goals but I’m not 100% convinced, just yet

Next game just watch him no one else just focus on him for however long he is on, I did it for the Southampton game and he has got bags of talent, I know Southampton but still.
(please don't blame me if he fucks up tomorrow)

They operate in basically the same spot in the field just have different things they’re good at. Don’t know why we wouldn’t compare them. He’s clearly the Dembele replacement.

I understand some criticisms, like his fitness issues, but I don't know how anyone can question his talent. Been obvious since preseasons.

Yep, in the same way Kamela was Bale's replacement.

Different player, different style, different skill set

When Dembele was at his best he looked absolutely unplayable - strength, dribbling, ball retention, interceptions, tackling - he was great to have. There is a risk of remembering his spell a little too fondly, as he did not completely dominate every single game he was in. No player ever does. He had his issues obviously with injuries, but there were also dips in form and some games that passed him by. He was a late bloomer, too. If he'd worked with different coaches and had been moulded as the midfield general he became from the start of his career I've no doubt he would have been even better and considered one of the true greats in the role.

With Ndombele we're still looking at a player in the early stages of his career, but the early signs, to me at least, are very, very good. He too can dribble, retain, intercept and tackle, plus he has it in him to hit a killer pass and it seems he may be adding goals to his game too. He can develop his stamina and strength and build on the foundations and natural ability in his game. I really think he's going to turn out great.

Poch always spoke fondly of Dembele (put him in the same category of special players for him as Ronnie, Jay Jay etc.). Often said he wished he'd had Dembele from a young age. Also reported widely that Ndombele was persuaded to join by Poch....maybe we get to see it all come together?

Guess this forum is pretty pointless then if we can't compare players who play the same positions...

Wonderful player but limited in his abilities. Couldn't score goals or spot a pass.

They are two totally different players. Dembele controlled the ball and protected the back 4. His display away at Juve a couple of years ago was one of the outstanding CM performances. Dembele's achilles heel (pardon the pun) was that he was not a dynamic passer in the last third. But him and Wanyama were total beasts the season we came second to Chelsea, and we sorely miss that today in CM. Ndombele gives us something different adding dynamism into the final third. Shame we never saw them together with both in their peak years i.e. Demebele of three years ago with the future Ndomebele of three years time

We might just see the best of him tonight. Outstanding last season against Barca and City. Lyon press said he was more of a big game player and sometimes couldn’t be bothered with run of the mill games.
