I reckon come the Liverpool game we will see his true quality, I think Poch has 2 things which need developing over this season, one is the fitness, the other is getting him to show up mentally for each and everygame not just the big ones but I think come the Liverpool game he will remind everybody why we wanted him so badly.

He does have a touch of yaya Toure about him. Toure was someone who always amazed how great he was when he didnt really have the running style and technique of a natural footballer

You can see his quality no question I think it might take him a season to settle.

I hear many of you say he is a "huge talent" personally I haven't seen anything that tells me he is. Those that say he needs a season to settle must realise we haven't bought some young kid with potential this is an established international player that has now had 5 or 6 games. We don't have a season for him to show us if he has what it takes to take this team to the next level otherwise it's another season with out a trophy. I will wait with hope that it all comes together SOON but I'm not convinced.

He's 22 so he is indeed young, he's only in his 4th year of professional football so yeah gonna need a bit of patience.

Toure was a very underrated player. He had an amazing few seasons at city, one season he was unreal. Probably the league’s best CM since Keane and Vieira retired. The issue was because he could do everything he had an intense playing style and towards the end couldn’t keep up with the game.
He did come to the league and his peak. N’Dombele isn’t there yet and it’s a lazy comparison to make as both are francophonic and black. In fact I feel that a Lot of francophonic black central players are typecast as DMs for some reason!

Even when I’ve joined new teams I get put at DM to add “pace and power” to the midfield when I’m not that sort of player. Tanguy can be his own player and I feel that he will be more of an attacking threat than a defensive rock. In fact the player he reminds me of most is Modric with the way both make those visionary passes with the outside of the boot but can muck in to win the ball back

Impressive memory in here. He had a good game away to City and ended the Villa game on a very high note after we changed formation.

As others have said I think he would be more comfortable with a more defensive minded CM alongside him. Not sure what the midfield set up was at Lyon, can anyone shed any light on that?

Listen to the pro's who've played for Poch.
They say it takes six months to get to Pochs fitness levels and learn his style.
Personally I think he needs Dier behind him (or another DM) unfortunately that leaves Winks out of the team.

4,2,3,1 or 4, 3, 3; lined up with Tousart and Aouar. Tanguy was especially effective playing the carrying/attacking role in a double pivot with Tousart as the more naturally defensive player.

He definitely a young kid. He'll still be eligible for Young Player of the year next season.

Its gonna take time for him to settle I think. We should use him in rotation so to not put too much pressure on him.

I’d like to see a 4-3-3 used now, with Dier or Vic or Skipp (depending on opposition and the competition) as the holding player. Then we can have Winks, Lo Celso, Sissoko, Ndombele rotating for the other two spots. That also gives us Lucas, Son, Lamela, Dele, Eriksen (?), Sess (or LB?), Parrott and Kane for the forward 3.. Should be plenty of opportunities in there for people. Keep the system the same, the game plan the same, but have options for each position/role.

The state of some of these comments in here lol.

It's like some people are so impatient they have to air 'their concerns' now ?

Sell sell sell.
He's never gonna make it.

Oh sorry that was Winks, Skipp, Kane and Sissoko amongst others
Wrong thread.

People still can't distinguish between
saying someone had a bad game
and writing them off.
