His goal reminded me of when Bale toasted Ferdinand.
We could have already had his first choice last summer. But we kept pushing for the impossible transfer. Fucking image rightsGood to see Mourinho didn't just sulk because he didn't get his first choice. He can probably expect a lot more of that during his time here...
I mean, he obviously wanted a centre forward in Jan, but there was no value in the market as you saw with Barca overpaying for junk like Brathwaite. That's comforting and scary in less than 240 characters.
While true it still feels like our player acquisition is all over the shop. Headed into a summer where all the noise suggests (very) limited funds i'm not confident in what the outcome may be.I mean, he obviously wanted a centre forward in Jan, but there was no value in the market as you saw with Barca overpaying for junk like Brathwaite.
The principles behind our player acquistion is to get players when you feel you can get them under market value. Bergwijn at £27m clearly fits that idea. While true it still feels like our player acquisition is all over the shop. Not that I wanted Brathwaite and sure am glad we landed Bergwijn.
He looks an absolute bargain at 27 million. Quick, robust, hardworking and an eye for goal. Whoever pushed for his transfer did a very good jobThe principles behind our player acquistion is to get players when you feel you can get them under market value. Bergwijn at £27m clearly fits that idea.

I'd say a knock on this squad for a few seasons now is, outside of Eriksen (others may even debate that) that as a squad, we have lacked footballers with footballing intelligence ... All the skill and pace and power in the world, but when you can't hit a pass 10 yards or have the ability to open up a tightly packed back four or five you'll struggle ...not skilful or particularly lightning however he has such a great brain and knows what to do with a football. A lot of people would prefer someone flashier and I still think there are players out there with better skills and pace that we could get. However nowadays being able to do the simple things well in this spurs team is rare!
What's surprised me most about him is his passing - perfectly weighted every time. Terrific player.
