Versatility, extrene pace, technical skills and intelligence added to the front three. Ease the need just a little for a forward or JM's term a striker till summer.

If we hadn't signed Bergwijn. I will be worried for the lack of a striker signing.

Mourinho couldn’t of praised him more in his press conference yesterday. Worth getting the full quotes but the gist was that he’s exactly the type of player and person they were after to fit into the way we want to play and also the kind of player the fans will like and will build a good relationship with going forward. He basically couldn’t of given him any higher praise.

I think one good thing of this deal is that we can use lo Celso more often in the central (instead of RW). I think this is the best way to use giovanni

Defenders hate pace. Just look at the carnage Traore at Wolves creates. If he has a similar impact, then everything will rosey.

Bergwijn seems at his best from the left. Son will have to switch to the right which I feel he isnt as suited as he is on the left.

This is a very decent front 6

Kane
Bergwijn Dele Son
Ndombele Lo Celso

We now have three rapid wide players, meaning more often than not we can play with pace on both flanks. Mourinho is slowly developing this side into a low block, counterattacking team that with technically good players like Tanguy and GLC can break a high press and move the ball quickly up field or launch long balls into space that fast forwards can run onto. If successful, it could bamboozle teams playing the high press style that football has been evolving towards over the last ten years.

It won’t happen overnight, but this is going to be interesting watching how our style changes over the next 6-12 months

Add in a decent DM in the summer and we look very good from the middle going forwards

Classic anti establishment Mourinho.

I‘ve said this before but I really don’t think we can play Ndombele and Lo Celso in a midfield two, especially if you’re gonna play Dele behind Kane and two out and out wingers.

We will be absolutely dominated and bullied in midfield.

Ideally we need to play 4-3-3 with another midfielder in alongside Ndombele and Lo Celso and Dele dropped or if we are playing Dele I can only see us using one winger when Kane back up top.

Would be good in Mourinho can get the above to work but we haven’t shown we can so far.

I feel that is what Jose is building towards here. A low block with a powerful CB who dominates the box, still to be bought. Then Lo Celso and Ndombele able to break the opposition counterpress and quick and deadly transitions with Son, Bergwijn etc.

Ally Gold in his video today saying those within the club were talking about him freeing up Son to now play up top. So likely looking at Bergwijn-Son-Lucas for the rest of the year.

Correct!

This was a part of Poch's undoing, other teams had caught up with his philosophy, implemented and in some cases took it forward.

It's about getting ahead of the curve, Mourinho is very intelligent.
