It was obvious we would get these kind of injuries with all the games we’ve been playing.

Last season and this don't count. It really is bollox. If people don't realise what is going on I pity them. Everything we thought was normal is going to be taken away.

Was the Son substitution planned or an injury?
Injured.

Do you expect to miss him for a long time?
Yes.

What kind of injury was it?
Hamstring.
Jose post-match. He could've just been giving short answers because he's fucked off with the end of the match.

I thought he would start on the bench today because Kane started on the bench Thursday. Unfortunate injury but we knew we would get injuries with the schedule. It's more matter of how many we get. Gutted might not see Kane, Son and Bale for a bit longer. Hopefully Bale returns soon and Bergwijn gets up to speed after a slow start.

Losing Son to injury is more frustrating for me than dropping points. The team finally looked to be clicking — largely because Son's been a man on fire. The drop in the team's performance in the second half without him says it all. Beating United this weekend without him and having two fixtures midweek seems like a tall task.

I do get we've got a pile up coming up. But the schedule hasn't been brutal yet. It's just standard Euro schedule.

We played choppers on Thursday. You start with the second string. Leave most of the squad at home and have one of Son or Kane on the bench to get a winner. The youth players would have been killing themselves to make their reputation.

Jose also said he expects one more injury on Tuesday, one on Thursday and another couple on Sunday..... got a feeling he's going to be proved right.

It’s not the group stages

Bit of a joke that Son payed every minute of all games of what was a hectic schedule at the start of the season when we have Bergwijn, Moura, Dele, Sessegnon, Lamela.

I think that’s easy to say after the fact. I’m sure Son would’ve been rested for one of the games this week. Can’t really blame anyone, comes down to bad luck in the end.

Jose needs to wise up to this and rotate more in the EL

José can rotate more once we’re in group matches and can afford to draw and even lose a game or two and still qualify.

Not sure if you’ve forgotten the Plovdiv performance already but regardless we don’t have the luxury of not winning at this stage.
