Winning the Europa league would have been the decider for him as he can leave now feeling he achieved something for himself and for the club, leave on a high.
If he goes to Saudi he's even making some money for us.

As I have said, its totally up to him. He has earned the right.

I'm not sure if he is as "washed up" as people make out. He was shoehorned into the winger position, which did him no favours. If we play to his strengths, then he will get goals again, I have no doubt.

I think it's a good time for him to move on, but if he stayed, played 30+ games next season and the squad doesn't suffer from the same injury crisis next season, then I'd still expect him to be our top scorer.

Don't think anyone would argue that he had a good season - only two goals in 2025 so far (one being a penalty) and whilst the whole attack looked useless in the second half of the season, it's looking more and more likely that Sonny is finished at the top level. Would love to have him around as an impact sub under a new manager if we get some genuine quality in attack to replace him, but I sometimes worry about club legends staying too long like Gerrard or Totti who the manager feels they can't drop because of their status in the dressing room and amongst fans, even when their legs have obviously gone.

It's ironic that the version of Son that ended up winning a trophy is easily the worst version of Son since he joined, but make no mistake, he deserves it more than anyone for dedicating his career to us - there was a time when it felt like him and Kane were the difference between our squad challenging for the top four and battling relegation, so if he wants to leave now on a high for one last payday then not one fan would begrudge him for it.

No idea if it's an ambition of his but would love to see him involved in the club as a coach or in some other capacity one day. A true Tottenham legend.

He's been injured for much of 2025. He's still injured now with the foot injury. Was left out of the Korea game a few days ago as not yet recovered.

He is a leader and inspiration and i think we need to keep him. He had poor season but i think he has at least one more year in him in which he can contribute a lot in terms of goals and assists, particuarly if used well through rotation.
I want to see him on the biggest stage again, taking on Barca, or Madrid or whoever in the Champions League.

He will be more useful when not asked to stay out wide. If I was just starting at Tottenham as a manager I wouldn't want to lose such an important member in the dressing room, plus Romero might leave too. But if he wants to leave on a high note then we should respect that.

Build the team around him. Play to his strengths.

Come on, you don’t build a team around a clearly declining guy who turns 33 year old before another ball is kicked.

I do think he can still be effective though if used correctly and not flogged twice a week

I could see doing well/better as the Mbeumo for us. At Brentford, Mbuemo was allowed to stay high up the pitch, more a wide second striker than winger, looking to engage the centre back rather than full back. It was only as numbers get forward that he drifted wider, which is a smart game plan and could work well for Sonny (as well as Tel potentially)

Does mean the winger on the other side has to do a bit more defensively as the midfield is stretched to provide cover on the Mbuemo side (Brentford’s right our left for Sonny). Not sure that brings the best out of Johnson, but could suit Deki

If he himself wants a change, then I think we can wish him well with him leaving as a legend on a high note. But if he's happy to be here another year, I would gladly keep him. I think he's far from washed and his experience and quality will show in a system that aims to play more to his strengths. I do think we will need to manage his minutes better - no more playing two 90s a week and getting into the 3500-4000 minutes for the season range; rotate him more, and I think he still has at least another season at the top level in him.

If it means we can get upwards of 85 - 100 Mill for him to reinvest it would be perfect for everyone, we get 2 good players and Son gets a retirement package.

Would not sell for 60 though!

I think you might be a bit optimistic — with Son’s age and declining form, I’d expect us to get £20–30m at best.

…Is the right answer

If we can get a good fewfor him, might be better for all involved.

If Frank thinks there’s a way he can meaningfully contribute to the squad, also great.

Either works for me
