That’s a very uncomfortable watch and the first time I’ve seen it. I don’t remember the players just standing there taking abuse for that long before now. It was almost like they were goading the fans which clearly didn’t need a second invitation.

like I’ve said countless times, save your apologies and unacceptable speeches and do your apologising on the pitch. The fear is that this creates a divide between players and fans.

one thing is for certain from watching that video, Ange is done. There is no coming back from that and I can’t quite believe the decision hasn’t already been made.

I'm not. It would be absolutely pointless sacking him now. Our squad will still remain decimated. Doesn't matter who you put in charge, no one has a magic wand to bring back players from injuries faster than already scheduled.

Son had a great chance in the first half and was poor with it. Too often he was a step off the pace, in thinking and reading the game, and in years gone by he would have left tarkovski for dead, not get tackled before shooting.

The season has been hard on him and he looks exasperated. Needs rest (won’t get it), to play in one position (won’t get it) in a settled team (hmmm) set up in a coherent, slightly more balanced way (no chance) to refind his game and form

Agree with the people who say he needs a rest and that he's not really a winger. I do wonder if he's been a bit distracted of late by all the weird shenanigans going on back home. I know he should be able to put that out of his mind when he's on the pitch but we're all human.

Son is the same age as Salah and younger than De Bruyne. There is no reason why he can't perform to a similar level personally. Obviously I can't pinpoint why he is not performing but age is not an excuse.

That’s a bit unfair, players’ career trajectories aren’t all the same. If his body isn’t up to it, it isn’t up to it. No point comparing to two cherry-picked examples (and whilst Salah is tearing it up currently it’s fair to say KDB is also past his peak).

Age, cumulative travel playing for Korea, cumulative fatigue and the general fact that City and Liverpool have viable options and can actually afford to rotate Salah and KDB, while we flog Son with continual minutes. Remember, Ange spoke at the beginning the season about managing Son's minutes but injuries scrapped that plan.

He shhhhhh the away fans didn't he? Last weekend obviously hit him hard
He’s done it for the last few weeks. I think he’s just generally shushing the critics rather than the match going fans but I might be wrong.

Youre not wrong but when the most vocal critics are your own fans its aimed at them also.

First half he was dropping deep and not pressing. Invaluable goals but his pace and energy levels are no longer there …..
It feels a bit petty to say after 2 vital goals, but he's not a reliable outlet to break the press, he keeps turning the ball over with loose dribbles or misplaced passes. He actually looks done in

Agree he is a legend but like watching the final year of Linekar; Sheringham escapes the criticism as he was so intelligent

At his stage of his career he should be managing in his minutes so that he can reserve his energy.

He's a similar style of player to Cristiano Ronaldo in the sense that he's lethal on the counter and in the channels/1v1 etc.

Since Ronaldo got to about 30, he just stayed forward reserving his energy for those moments where he could be decisive.

Son is at that stage.

Split time between him and Moore now. Odobert when he gets back too.

Genuine question, do you trust Moore against a fresh PL quality fullback, yet?

I reckon Moore has looked best against tired opposition coming off the bench and some EL teams that would be lower mid table in the PL at best (like us right now 😅).

Agree the trajectory is for Moore and Odobert to be our LW rotation in 2 years, just don't think he is ready to start yet.

If there is a time to try it, its against the 2nd worst defence in the league.

Two ways of thinking; start Son against one of the worst defences in the league, hope we get a couple of goals and then bring Moore on. Or start Moore and bring Son on against tired legs. The drawback being that in the second scenario we may struggle to create/score or (not outside the realms of possibility) be behind.
