Not convinced he's a bad player at all. Still think the quality is there somewhere.

Tbh even Kane wouldn't look good in this side cause he cant press like a demon from the front. Doesnt make him a bad player though.

What was noticeable for me today, when he got the ball they swarmed him, they're not fearful of him any more. They stood off others like Udogie and Kulu.

Defenders know he won't go passed them like he used to, and he's easier than ever to shove off the ball.

It's sad to see, and I hope he can find something again, but I think that may be blind hope.

His explosive pace has gone, it’s probably knocked him for 6 knowing he’s on the decline. Playing in this system won’t help him. Unfortunately he’s not up for starting. But as per the club can’t pay up for a decent option for sonny to come on late in games to replace. Making him the team captain was wrong but at the time did we really have any other options? Kulu is showing it now but he wasn’t when Kane left. Romero? Maybe, not sure, he went through a phase of getting booked and sent off last season. English won’t be great.

Need a powerful pacy player like Gittens or Leao and demote Son to rotation option. He's not at the level required any more to start every game.

Think Son would do better in a 5-3-2

Play him up top with solanke.

Wing backs providing the width.

Madison and Kulu in the centre. Bentacur just behind.

Gray can be one the 3 CB and bring the ball out.

We'd have cover for the quick switch to the wing that constantly exposes us, so perhaps a change in formation to get the most out of what we have .

It's not like our current wingers are helping

Should no longer be a regular starter.
Depends on how you define "regular starter"

We currently don't have anyone better than Son. That is the problem. Moore is not ready, Werner is not better, and Odobert and Richarlison are injured.

So, when that happens, Son really should be a regular starter.

But, it also highlights that we really are not as good as we think we are - not enough players at their peak, and too many players past it, or still developing.

I'd say, Solanke, Kulusevski and Romero are probably the only players we have at their peak - and good enough for a top-4 caliber squad.

If we had any ambition we really should be at the point of the rebuild now where the deadwood has been mostly cleared, the average of of the squad drastically reduced and we have plenty of versatile players , we now need players that are instant first team upgrades that raise the level .

2 or 3 players each summer for circa £50-£80mil.

Kanes gone, Sons probably finished. We need a world class forward and i don't care abiut the market being tough in January, money talks.

Semenyo seems fine but we ought to be shopping in the top bracket now. We can afford it and even though we are currently midtable it's never stopped Man U or Chelsea attracting players, because they pay the fees and the wages.

Levy needs the good PR so I have a feeling he will put his hands in his pocket in the next month. 🤞

Poor today and not just his penalty. He pulled out of a challenge a few mins before the pen and that just said it all. If your captain isn’t going to compete for 50/50s then he shouldn’t be captain

Couldn't agree more. Should never be captain the first place. That moment summed him up

His pen was actually pretty well taken though. It was just a good read and save from Sa.

Might well get pelters from the Sonny fanboys who wont hear a bad word said about him but i actually think he is partly responsible for Udogies injury.
Udogie made many overlapping runs at full speed only to have to stop quickly after eithet not receiving the ball or it being played behind him.
When he sustained the injury he ran past on the overlap and had to slow down quickly because Son again failed to pass it.

Son gets a free pass from many fans but this happens week after week, frequent poor choices and slowing the play down.
Werner did more today, and thats saying something

If we do exercise his contract extension for another year then it must be done with a view to selling him this summer to try and get some money for him.

Been a great servant for the club, but we need to be looking to the future and he's taking up a first team place that could be used for someone more long term.

Our captain is not helping us at all right now and doesn’t deserve to start. Sadly our squad is down to the bare bones and so barring playing a player out of position or starting Werner or an academy kid, what’s the alternative. Could we recall Solomon in Jan?

He’s had a free pass for the last 18 months.

Watching the Liverpool game and the difference in quality to Diaz is night and day. Son’s best days are sadly behind him and playing like he is at the moment he is a liability, needs to be an impact sub or cashed in while he still has some reputation.
