Odobert and Moore are quality LW options. As depth options now and honestly starters next season I’d have zero issue with those two as our LW options. It’s just neither of them are fit currently. It’s a RW we need desperately. One who can retain the ball and go 1v1. One who can draw defenders and give Son more space on the left. Son still has a ton of value. Just now when he’s playing 2x a week and when he’s forced to go 1v1 or hold the ball up centrally. Get him the ball in space and he’s devastating creatively and with his finishing. He needs space made for him though, and when he doesn’t have that, he’s not functional.

Really poor tonight, gave the ball away a lot and barely beat his man once.

His legs are starting to go aren’t they or at least he’s certainly no where near as consistent or threatening as he has been in previous seasons, don’t know if it’s the tactics or his legs going or what but v poor tonight

There’s no way we’re buying a top quality replacement for Son. Levy and the board will deem Odebert and Moor as adequate ( who in fairness could be top quality in time ).

Really should not be extending Sonny's contract by a year, time to say goodbye , some of his touches and passes tonight were so poor.

Needs replacing sadly, but that’s football. Cant play forever.

Also, am I the only one that feels the signing of Min Hyeok Yang is incredibly cynical?

I feel we’ve bought him to be Son 2, and to keep the Korean fans on board which kind of irks me a bit.

Speaks volumes.

352 play him up front with Big Dom Solanke and then Johnson can come on after 70 minutes or so .

He isn’t suited to the left wing anymore I feel.

Son is on his way out but until we actually have better at the club then he needs to stay.

You might be right on Yang but then he might be a great talent and bringing him here while Son is here to help him settle could be a good idea.

All we can do is sit back and wait and see.

We know he’s on the wain. We know why he still keeps starting games. He’s a superstar in Korea. And he brings in the dosh. If Hwang comes in and replaces him. Then Levy will be happy. But he has been an absolute servant for our club. So we need to show him respect. But. We know it over.

Fair.

But what about the right side of the pitch then?

Get a quality addition there and it takes the strain of Son a bit too.

I feel like if he was in the same positions that Werner found himself in, in last nights game he would have done better, but the way things are going at the moment that’s no guarantee 🤔

Seems a shadow of the player that shared the golden boot with Salah a couple of seasons ago. Playing in different teams but one of them is still leading the league and the other is a passenger.

He gets paid, he has played when he has performed badly. That's enough respect. We just can't carry him anymore.
He also missed a couple of great chances to score last few games and seems to be getting worse.
