He's clearly not up to 3 games a week. But he had to fill in up front because our 2 strikers are out. Should have scored one of his chances first half though. Particularly the 2nd where for some reason didn't shoot first time when so close to goal.

I don't expect much from him when he gets the ball these days. Hasn't been good enough for far too long, a great servant and I'd absolutely love to see him lift a trophy here but he isn't the player he was and a spell on the bench might do him good. We desperately need a couple of real threats on the wings, Son isn't that game changer anymore and Johnson is a goal threat but offers very little else. Should've addressed this in the summer.
Once again Levy and co think that players last forever and have zero planning when it comes to long term solutions.

Instead we've gone for the "far future" option in Yang and are hoping him or Moore can step up but that is obviously going to be 2-3 years away, even if they are able to.

And going for Yang is a decision purely based on trying to continue the South Korean income that Son brought, rather than trying to find the best long term fit as a footballer.

Can I just say it's a pleasure to have someone from the scouting inner circle here on SC.

We have a few really good prospects out wide to be fair so there is a degree of succession planning. Its just that it has come too late down the line. We should have signed an Odebert a few years ago so they're up to where Sarr is now in midfield. Instead we wasted years under Conte and Jose without any succession planning aside from the academy which Paratici really helped improve. It means we ended up loaning Werner as a stop gap while the youngsters develop.

Sonny needs a break. I also think he needs to focus on a position/role to get back onto form. Playing wing one game, upfront the next, when you are struggling isn’t helping

His best days are sadly long behind him. We should have moved him on when he was still worth something. Levy clearly didn't want to lose those Korean fans and all the wonga they bring. He has no idea how to build a successful football team.

If we had fully fit squad, I suspect Son would have been benched more often. He plays irrespective of form because there is no other option.

Yep should of sold him at the same time we sold kane when he was still worth something 😂

Looks much better when he plays on the left and cuts inside. He’s just not a natural striker and him getting stick for playing there against Fulham isn’t right.

The grief Sonny is getting is ridiculous. He should have been rested for this one, he just looked leggy all game. Again it comes down to injuries and lack of investment in top quality forwards

If Levy had done that, everyone would've wanted his head on a pike, even though it would've been the right call longer term.
