I think this may have a slight upside in the sense that playing another midfielder will see us control games abit more and actually keep possesion abit more thsn we have been with son, alli and moura in the team.
We will struggle more for goals but id actually expect better football overall.

There's nothing we can do except fight on and get on with it. Still plenty to play for. We've still got Bergwijn, Lucas, Lamela and Alli for now and Parrott you'd imagine might become a bench option. Sessegnon will also cover the wings with Davies back now.

He played there most of this season, due to injuries to other players.

He didn’t get good reviews in that role from PSV fans. It’s not his position but he can obviously try to do a job.

To me, the only option is to play Dele central with Lucas and Bergwijn playing off him.
Yeah, think I would try Alli and Lamela as strikers. We should try to turn it into a strength as CBs will not be used to having no obvious marker. If we're clever about it we can at least create overloads and pull defenders out of shape, it's just who's gonna stick the ball in the net that's the concern really.

Who though?

The only free agent I can see on the list who’d even be worth considering is Diafra Sakho.

That’s the level we’re working at here.
him then. Giuseppe Rossi is out of contract tho a bit older. whats the down side?

Rossi is an injury waiting to happen. Also seems likely he's going to sign with MLS as he's training with Salt Lake.
well we've got injuries that already have happened to deal with. Im not married to the idea of Rossi, just think we ought to sign a free agent for cover.

Forget Lamela.

What concerns me as much as Son and Kane being out is the strain it will put on the others, especially if we stay in at least one other cup competition.

These injuries seem to compound the problems, the likes of Moura and Dele have had little rest and it wouldn’t surprise me if they got injured before too long.
this is a real concern & why JM should consider creative solutions. I know he has concerns about Parrott (more mental than physical?), but he’s a warm body, if nothing else! And, maybe putting Aurier or Tanganga up front to stir things up? I mean, Peter Couch played up front in the EPL for years! An Aurier really can’t do so very temporarily?

With both Son and Kane injured, I wonder who'll be our player of the season. No one really who's had a full good season - perhaps Harry Winks is the closest, even Bergwijn with just half a season might be in with a shot.

Was thinking about this earlier. In truth no one's had a good season so far. Probably will be Gio if he stays fit.

Dortmund beat PSG tonight with this front three

Haaland 19yo
Reyna 17yo
Sancho 19yo

Mbappe on the other side won the WC when he was 18.

That's not to say Parrott is as good as any of them, or ever will be. But being 18 is no good reason not to play him on its own.

Do we have any spare slots in the squad of 25, even if we could find a suitable out of contract signing?

Ten goals in his six first games for Dortmund so far. Think he would have been the best striker target for us last window.

Sure, when he wanted to be regular first starter, has a release clause, huge fee for Raiola and he would be top3 earner in club

The fee was reported to be 20 mill euros.. Don`t know about Raiolas fee though. Parrott should be given a chance now.

Toby has been ever-present and I fear for what our defense would look like without him. GLC close second at this pace.

is a shame Adebayor just signed for some team in Paraguay, he looks like Pele compared to the rest of the free-agent strikers available

Good point, I would go with Toby, considering his age and he signed a new contract and scored a cracking goal last Sunday, he might be up for player of the season with Son now out.
