Yeah of course January wasn’t a problem. Just like the previous 10 windows weren’t a problem

We'll be fine. Maybe the CL will go down to 10th
The previous ones were a problem. January wasn't. Who would you have bought in January that's actually any better than e.g. Parrott or Dele up front?

Maybe we can persuade Napoli to release Llorente so we can pick him up on a free ftansfer?

Got to be looking for a free agent now surely.
Could be wrong but I don't think you can register free agents outside of transfer windows in the Premier League. Certainly not if you haven't left a squad space open.

Between Bergwijn, Lamela, Ndombele, Sessegnon, Lo Celso, Alli, Moura, Gedson, Parrott we have 9 players who can play somewhere in a front 4 if required.

It's not ideal but it's not the end of the world, given that Jose has tended to prefer Moura as the CF over Son.

Tottenham will be without Son Heung-min for up to two months after the forward suffered an elbow injury, The Athletic understands.

Sources have said that Son suffered the injury in the early stages of Sunday’s 3-2 win at Aston Villa, a game in which remarkably he played on until the end and scored twice — including a stoppage-time winner.

After travelling back to London on Sunday, Son went for a scan on Monday to explore possible damage to the proximal radius of his right elbow. Tottenham later confirmed that Son would require surgery and a typical recovery time is six to eight weeks.

The worst-case scenario of an eight-week layoff would mean that Son is unavailable for at least ten games; seven Premier League games, both legs of the Champions League last 16 tie and the FA Cup fifth round match against Norwich.

With Harry Kane, their first-choice striker, already out with a hamstring injury, this further limits Jose Mourinho’s options in attack. Tottenham host RB Leipzig in the Champions League last 16 tomorrow and play their London rivals Chelsea in the Premier League on Saturday. The 3-2 win against Villa lifted Tottenham to fifth in the table and they could leapfrog Chelsea with victory at Stamford Bridge this weekend.

In the first minute of the Villa game, Son was knocked over by Villa defender Ezri Konsa and after landing awkwardly left the pitch to receive treatment. The Athletic understands he was in “quite a bit of pain”, but managed to play on.
In his on-pitch interview after the match, Son can be seen holding his arm as he takes questions from Sky Sports alongside Toby Alderweireld.

The Athletic understands that the injury is on the same arm that he fractured while playing for South Korea in June 2017. He missed 61 days after surgery on his right forearm.

In general Son’s injury record has been exceptional since joining Tottenham. He has missed only a handful of Premier League games through injury and featured so often that, coupled with his international commitments, there have been fears he has been overplayed.

According to figures produced by injuries analyst Ben Dinnery, of Premier Injuries, Son was involved in 79 games from May 25, 2018 to June 13, 2019 for club and country. That was more than any leading Premier League player in that timeframe, and Son was cited, alongside Liverpool’s Alisson and Sadio Mane as being at risk of injury in FIFPro’s At The Limit report released last year.
Son’s workload has been similarly high this season, playing 32 games for Tottenham and missing just three minutes of Premier League action when available under Mourinho. He did have to sit out three games due to suspension over the festive period, but the hamstring injury to Kane has made him close to undroppable since he returned. He has started eight out of Tottenham’s nine matches in that period.

Son has been shouldering the goalscoring burden in Kane’s absence — especially as Spurs didn’t sign a striker in January — scoring six goals in his past five matches.
