Bloke in front of me says that Sonny's solo effort reminded him of Greaves' goal against Man Utd, which he was there for.

7 assists as well at the start of December. A part of his game that I always had a gripe with.

Can we all agree the man is world class?

Perish the idea that we'd ever want to sell him but in today's market, he's a £200 million player and that amazing goal will have shaken up a lot of clubs who'd love to have him play for them. The thing about him is not just that he's an amazing player, but he's so loved by everyone at the club. Definitely one of the first names on the team sheet every week. Jose has already said Sonny is a joy to work with and a brilliant example to all young players coming through the system. We all just love the guy.

Sadly, there were no cameras to record the greatest goal ever scored.

v Leicester. I was there and I remember it well. Nobody could catch him and he gently slid the ball under the very young Shilton. There was a picture in the Sunday papers of the carnage Greavsie left behind him as he slid the ball into the net, with defenders on the ground looking behind them in awe having failed to get the ball off our little maestro. God bless him.

That’s the one. You and I were amongst the 27,000 privileged few.

Said a few weeks back that he was on the same level as Mane and Salah but I guess because we weren't playing well as well and low and confidence it was easy to poo poo it, guess that's what happens when you see stuff from a myopic viewpoint. @Primativ what are you saying now?

If he continues on the upward trajectory along with the team then yes

Still massively disagree. He’s just not on the same level as those two and any reasonable football fan would tell you that. The key reason is consistency.

Mane is probably Liverpool’s most important attacker and has been for a while. His stats and consistency are simply phenomenal.

Son needs consistency. He is too streaky, he looks world class one week and pretty abject the next. We’ve just had about two months of really poor performances from Son, which happens every season, he then puts in a great performance yesterday and you can’t wait to compare him to Mane and Salah again? Sorry no. I would say Salah can equally be quite inconsistent but has a higher level than Son, but Mane, has been putting on consistently high performances for two years now.

In Dyche's post match presser he said Burnley should have stopped the run early doors with a technical foul. Imho, with Son, that would be denying an obvious goal scoring opportunity :)

2 months? Not having that

Since the start of November in all competitions

Assist v Everton
2 goals v Red Star
Goal v Sheff Utd
Goal and assist v West Ham
Assist v Olympiacos
2 assists v Bournemouth
Blank v Man Utd
Goal and assist v Burnley

Before that our whole team was dirt so you can't blame him for being poor and not look at the rest of the team either.

Mane isn't hitting the same consistency playing in our side, that's kinda the point. If Son played for Liverpool you'd see him hitting consistent numbers.

To top off everything that is great about Son, his ability, speed, balance ,attitude, that smile etc... he also practically pays for himself with the amount of South Koreans, all with Son merchandise, he attracts to every home game.

Said this in Kane thread, he’s being played as more of an out and out winger now and it seems to be suiting him allowing him to make more runs and contributing more assists from wide areas.

Interesting to see he was switched to right side when Sessegnon came on (until I watched the match on sky last night I’d assumed maybe Sessegnon was playing inverted on right).

The fact he is strong on both feet is a massive plus as well.

His numbers are consistent already though? Unless you're arguing he would get better numbers at Liverpool but I doubt it because the front three they have play with sensational chemistry. Firmino has only scored four goals all season but they wouldn't trade him for anyone.

I think Son is our best player to watch and our most naturally talented player. I think there is a point that however he is streaky as a goalscorer. If you look at the period Kane was injured last season, Son was the main man and relishing it, ran Man City ragged, then it all came to a halt. But then I don't think he scored again after the City second leg.

I'm arguing that he'd put in more consistent performances at Liverpool, @Primativ argument is that he doesn't see Son on the same level of Salah and Mane and I'm saying that if these players swap teams you'll see a better output for Son and Liverpool and worse for Mane/Salah at Spurs.
