Bournemouth is the ideal game too as he's not going to have a Mo Salah, Cole Palmer or Saka type winger coming at him, so he should be able to hold his own.

I might be wrong but doesn’t Semenyo play down that side. He would absolutely murder Regullon.

But will have Semenyo

Wonder if in hindsight ange would have included Spence and Regulion for Europe instead of porro and Udogie

Much rather reguilon start against a Hungarian team than a PL team

Think it was the Barca preseason game where it felt like there was no way back after that. Still feels that way, but if it saves Udogie’s legs, that’s valuable.

Come on, he's nowhere near as bad as some people make out. In Anges system with attacking fullbacks he's a much better fit at LB than Davies or Gray. And I love Davies.

Yeah I remember he got sent for a hotdog by Lamal and subsequently came off injured. That was the last we saw of him.

I think his issue is clearly off the pitch.

He’s nowhere near bad enough to be outcast the way he has so he must have seriously rubbed someone up the wrong way.

it’s a shame as Udogie needs a rest.

based on what?

We don't even know if Spence is fit enough to start, let alone what he is doing in training to warrant a start.
Based on the fact that Porro is being overused and is looking tired in games, especially the latter parts of them. Based on us clearly trusting Spence now as we extended his contract in mid-October.

Spence has been on the bench since 10th November and made a brief cameo appearance against City, there's no reason I know of that he shouldn't be fit and ready against Bournemouth - obviously if he isn't then fine.

I keep people saying to stick Lankshear in since Saturday, but he’s not ready. He got absolutely bullied against Galatasaray, whose central defenders were all with the greatest respect bang average.

He’ll get eaten alive in the premier league.
Away against Gala is probably as tough as it gets in terms of European football. There's plenty of light-weight footballers, which i don't think he is BTW, that do well in the prem, I won't bother listing them all here. In addition to this he's proven himself at the step before PL last season for the U21s.

I'm not saying that he should start over Solanke or Richarlison if they are both fit, but he should be the 3rd choice ST, even if it's from the bench. Son was shit on Sunday, so I can't see Lankshear being any worse and the lad needs to get some games before we start saying he's not ready (not sure how he gets ready without playing games either).

Bournemouth is the ideal game too as he's not going to have a Mo Salah, Cole Palmer or Saka type winger coming at him, so he should be able to hold his own.

How you're putting Semenyo in the same bracket as Salah, Palmer or Saka is beyond me.

I didn’t. 😂 I said that Semenyo would absolutely murder Reguilon if he played down that side.
My thinking is that Semenyo is as quick and three times the size of Regulion and that he would bully him. He would probably be better facing Salah,Palmer or Saka.

Let's be honest we have had far worse players then him play alot of games for us but for Jose, Conte and Ange to bomb you, to get 3 different loan moves where none sign you permanently (albeit Brentford were supposedly not going to consider it given his wages) then it's not a massive leap to think these decisions are not based solely on football ability.

I'll always come back to the Christmas story where Jose bought him the very expensive Serrano ham for Christmas as he was meant to be spending it alone and then pictures emerged of him with the south Americans on Christmas Day breaching COVID. Could anyone blame Jose for being pissed off at him for that.

Hard to say, he’s a good overlapping normal full back but as an inverted full back not sure he’s good enough with the ball, also playing such a high line yes he has pace but when Ange played him in a few games in first pre-season he got absolutely roasted, his positioning was all over the place, I think Ange made his mind up on him then.

That being said Udogie needs a rest so I’d not be against giving Reggie a go against Bmouth, tbh I think we will lose anyway and it would save Udogie’s legs for Chelsea.

Isn't it that he's not playing because we'd owe real madrid 30 mill after x amount of games and he's hit the limit? I remember that being said a few years ago.

Outside of us extending his contract (which could be for purely commercial reasons) I don't see much evidence of us trusting him.

In relation to Reguilon - multiple managers, with different systems, have had a look at him and said 'no thanks'. I think that tells us everything.

I can't see how we could owe Madrid 30m which is more than what we signed him for. We could owe them an installment or something if he reaches a certain threshold of games. He's played 52 PL games for us and 67 overall. It's unlikely that any such clause would kick in at 68 or 69 games so even if there was a clause we could still get a few appearances from him but we have clearly chosen not to.

If that were the case, and 1 more game would cost us £30m, then there would be simply zero point in putting him on the bench last weekend. We might as well have had the kit man as 7th sub as he'd have had more chance of playing.

A lot of clubs would kill to have Reggie and Spence as understudies in a position as physically taxing as full back. Not us. Just flog the starters until they collapse apparently. I love Ange but this bizarre dogmatic insistence on playing the same guys in the league will be talked about years after he's left Spurs.
