Also liked that he paid tribute to his predecessor Walker with a massively overhit cross in the 76th minute. Touch of class.

Thought he looked excellent and whilst it's early days he looks like he does offer a bit more than Walker.

He dealt very well with the situation in the first half where he was constantly being left in 2 or even 3 on 1 situations due to Son and Eriksen not really tracking people properly, and whilst he did suckered in on a couple of occasions, he largely helped the team keep its shape and even when he did make a mistake he generally made up for it.

Going forwards I thought he had pace, which is important, and I think his delivery will improve as he gets back his match sharpness.

What I really liked was his ability on the ball. Some good quick passes, some good little steps inside, and just generally looked a lot more comfortable on the ball than Walker and Trippier ever have.

As I said, early days, but I really liked what I saw.

Solid display with a few touches of class. Looks a lot more dynamic than Walker going forward. But what I liked most was how he was demanding more from the players around him. Towards the end of the first half after another wave of Dortmund attacks he was clearly shouting and driving the team on to keep focused and push forward. Something I've not seen that often in this current team.

Completely agree, He's a winner and a leader, as a character he may do some bad things during his time with us but hopefully not however real winners have an edge, Alli has it, Kane has it, Dier has it, Roy Keane had it all in different ways and Aurier as an addition can only be a good thing.

If this is how he performed against a highly talented Dortmund frontline, you can only imagine and be excited by what he will bring to the side in the PL.

There is a clear, Alves / Marcelo like arrogance to his game. Love it!

@Hercules alluded to this in the transfer window

The brilliance of that play can't be understated.

Aurier had three options there - 1) he could have tried to settle the ball and play it out from there - but Pulisic would have pounced on the ball and probably scored, or at least gotten a shot on goal. 2) Aurier could have simply booted it out with his left foot - which would have cleared the danger momentarily, but would have put the team under pressure again soon enough. Or, 3) he could let the ball run past, and then use his pace to bring the ball out of the back.

Even with the 3rd option - the way he let it run past, by ducking (and turning) - he was in a better position to chase the ball down, than if he simply let the ball through his legs.

The man may have done some boneheaded things in the past, but the football brain is pure genius.
