Thanks for the disagrees 🤣

So let’s put my point another way - hypothetical of course, if we can only change 1 single player/position this close season, quite a few would change Serge before any other, especially midfield? Yeah right.

If we can only make 1 signing it’ll be very worrying lol!

But I merely said we should sort out our midfield first. But 6 (at last count) said it should be Serge 🙄🤣 No backtracking from me, but I think we clearly have more fundamental problems - especially in central midfield. What’s the old adage - sort out the spine of the team first.

This is the nightmare of this season. We pick up two of the most promising midfielders in Europe and they're both for various reasons peripheral for six months. And after a 10-week break neither of them are considered ready to start a game and we go out against United with Winks and Sissoko in the middle. Midfield is a problem we thought we'd solved last summer.

Nearly cost us a goal a game? What evidence do you have to back up this claim? Or like what I think this is just a load of bullshit based on your dislike of him.
Well Friday night he nearly cost us two so there is the start I’ll update you after each game going forward big man 👍

How about Winks, who also made mistakes that put our defence under tremendous pressure in many of the games he played. Dier?
To pinpoint on one single player removes any credit in your argument.
Aurier had saved our asses, stopping otherwise certain goals on several occasions this season. How about that?

Probably yes, we’ve got enough numbers in midfield. It’s just trying to get the best out of them, If Ndombele can get fit and start to show more maybe it lifts Winks performances. Our midfield is a problem but again this is about Serge. I don’t see any improvement with Serge and he is a liability. Full backs are integral in modern day football. Look at Liverpool, City, Leicester, Chelsea, Wolves and Sheffield United even...they all have Full backs who positively influence a game. Our full backs hinder our performance at times. I’d take a chance on Doherty from Wolves or Meunier until we’ve got a long term plan for this position.

He doesn't learn. He was in the exact same position on Friday in the first half as he was against Southampton away when instead of laying the ball of to Winks in this case he tries to overplay and gave the ball away which led to Fernandes strike. Any time when he is given time to think ends in near disaster.

Starting to find that consistency, thought he was excellent tonight.
He gets into so many dangerous positions and his crossing is overall decent if not a little erratic. Also made some important headers when sweeping crosses tonight.

His crossing was poor tonight easily could have scored another couple if his crossing was on point ! Same as united game moment in first half he had the whole side free easy ball to play over hit it

Did anyone else notice that stat onSky last night showing our Serge has made the 3rd highest number of successful tackles of anyone in the entire PL this (whole) season so far?

I know stats never tell the whole story, but still...
