I don’t want to, but I really wouldn’t be hugely surprised if we sold him. I just dont see where he’s going to get a game nevermind this season but the one after that as well.

Him and Reguilon can share the load. And, in worst case, Real buys Reguilon back in a year or two, Sess would be our best wing back.

I know he hasn’t really had a chance but if we got a good offer for him I’d sell. Especially now with Reguilon here he won’t get many games at LB and won’t get ahead of Son so put it down to his situation being unfortunate and just hasn’t worked out. He’s got age on his side so I’m sure he can make a v good career at another club. Maybe we can put in a buy back clause if we did sell him.

Brighton is where I'd most like to see him in the PL as well, he'll get the most chances in a system that utilizes wingbacks. Sessegnon and Lamptey would be a very exciting pair for them.

Can challenge for LB.

Reguilon might be gone next summer.

Brighton would be a great move. Potter seems like a guy who is pretty established now, and hopefully that reduces the risk of an in-season sacking which can derail any loan. On paper, it looks like he'd get plenty of minutes if he comes at it with the right mindset.

Definitely wouldn't sell him. But in my mind he 100% has to go to a premier league team with a clause that states he has to start at least every other premiership game if he's fit. Even if it means a lower loan fee. He needs game time in the premiership.

Why would we sell him? We paid 25m for him. No one will offer that. He needs to mature a bit and believe in himself. You can see hes afraid to put a foot wrong.

A bit from ornstein
  • England Under-21 international Ryan Sessegnon is expected to leave Tottenham on loan. Brighton, Southampton and Hertha Berlin are currently showing the most interest, with Leeds another potential destination. Ajax could also be a possibility but only if left-back Nicolas Tagliafico exits the Dutch club. Most suitors would like an option to buy included in the loan, which Spurs are reluctant to grant, while a further complication is Tottenham’s request for a loan fee and full coverage of Sessegnon’s salary.

If there’s an option to buy, it has to be at the going rate for a young hg full back in the PL with one to season under his belt. Chilwell and Wan Bissaka the templates here. He’s not worth that now, but one must assume that if the host club want to buy him it’s because he’s had a good season.

If Gedson has an option to buy at £50m then Sessengon must be worth at least £80m ?

This isn't a complication, anyone in their right mind would demand this of a player of this current ability.

True but has Jose given him any minutes this season yet? Might just be he doesnt fancy him. Really sad if this doesnt work out as it felt like such an exciting signing after a long long courtship.

I don't think you have to worry that Jose doesn't fancy him - plenty of evidence that Jose loves him. He tried to buy him for United and he's on record as saying he sees him as an Ashley Cole type (high praise as much as i hate A.Cole !).

With the injury to Son i'm sure plenty of fans (me included) are tempted to say we should keep him as cover, but that is very short termism and would probably be detrimental to the plan we have for him in future. Son's injury shouldn't stop Sessengon going out on loan if that decision was deemed the best option for him/us in the long run. However, if Son's injury is a bad one - a 6-8 weeks minimum bad - then perhaps he could cover for him short term and then possibly go on loan in January ? But i do think that we will make that decision after the midweek games as we could be out of the 2 Cup competitions by Thursday night, in which case we would have enough PL cover with Lamela/Moura/Bale and Stevie.
