I'd prefer Davies.

I always feel he is underrated, ok he had a bad patch last season but the season before he was fantastic.

I think because he is not the quickest people instantly count it against him. The thing about Davies is he never holds onto the ball for very long, he knows what he is going to do with the ball before he gets it, and makes the correct decision most of the time. This is one of his great strengths, but, again might actually hurt peoples perception, because people are unlikely to remember his contribution.

Another thing which I really like about Davies is he is super aggressive, closes people down very quickly and tends to get the tackle in quickly. Before, again, moving it on quickly.

It is amusing that even though Rose is much much quicker than Davies, Rose tends to slow down our play much more than Rose. Rose is best when he plays instinctively, when he does he still is a top top fullback, as soon as he has time to think on the ball he tends to be too ponderous and hurt us going forwards. Davies is mentally a very quick player, and it is his fluidity why I think Poch will often put him on when we are chasing a game, it is not simply a defensive substitution.

I always find because Davies doesn't do the things that stick in the memory of fans like taking players on etc. and because he is a player of great efficiency people kind of forget he is there, and don't really see what he does. I recommend to pay close attention to him next time he plays if you think all he is is some kind of steady eddie.

Hmm :bored:

Wasn’t it Davies doing something that no one else did tonight, that led to a goal for us? Yeah, he wasn’t great, no one was, but at least he did create something.

Clutching...he passed the ball to Lucas who produced a worldie...hardly anything to write home about.

Look I think he's alright and as I said he's more consistent than Danny Rose and a more favorable long term option but people are trying to make him out to be something that he's not.

Last night Prodence had the run on him because he knew he could, there's nothing better as a tricky winger when the full back marking you is slow, it doesn't matter if you have good concentration or anticipation or good at one on one's, if you struggle to cover space in behind you then you're always in trouble.

He's a player who should play against bus parkers as he has a better end delivery and can play as an inverted full back or when we are chasing a game - playing him against pacey tricky wingers is utter madness, it's not as if we haven't learnt that lesson before when Mane destroyed him at Anfield.

Say “irritation” which they said about Dier and Sanchez who are now fit. Hopefully just a precaution.
Yet another new word to enter the Spurs English Dictionary of injury descriptions used extensively to confuse everyone as to what exactly is going on.

What the fuck is wrong with sessengon he was linked with us all summer then we got told he had a hamstring injury for nearly four months, so what has he had the hamstring removed or something how fucking long does it take our player's to ever get fit.

We’re not going to see much of him this season are we, no time frame on his comeback & after being knocked out the cup, the only realistic competition i can see him getting a start in when fit is the FA Cup

To be fair, hamstring's are tricky bastards and shouldn't be rushed.

True at his age as well. Got injured June 21st. 3 months is a pretty major hamstring injury. Whole career ahead of him definitely need to make sure we get this right. Obviously can’t wait to see him but important they Have him spot on..

Everything Poch said about Sessegnon when he signed suggested ot me that he is a Levy / Pleat type purchase and Poch didn't see the need for him and would have rather used the money to get other players in quicker. I hope Poch remembers that (a) he wanted to offload Rose and (b) he is a WB whisperer who does amazing things with young, intelligent athletic wide players.

After how Dele has been treated in the last 2 years with his hamstrings I don't blame them for taking it steady either

Yeah agree. Poch said recently that he didn’t know where he was going to play him, which I found quite a strange statement. If you specifically target a player as one of your main targets then I would have thought you already have a firm idea of how you are going to use them.

He just means he doesn’t know if he would be best LW or LB. Poch seemed really excited to work with him from the quotes i’ve read. Really not sure how anyone could come to the conclusion he had no say in signing Sessgnon. Especially when we’ve been told consistently by multiple sources that he has a say in all our signings.

He was one of Poch's main targets according to Dan Kilpatrick

Given how shit Eriksen has been I’d be tempted to have him on left of attacking three and put Son on the right (not a fooking diamond Poch!).

I know, which is why I would have thought he had a clear idea of where he wanted to play him, especially if he’s one of the so called new guard that Poch will be ushering in. If he’s not suitable for a LB in a back four that suggests we’ll be going back to a back 3, or if he’s planning to use him wife left as an attacker I don’t see quite how he’s going to establish himself.

Anyway, hopefully we’ll find out soon if he ever gets fit!
