Still only 27 so plenty of time left for him. I hope he can get a run of games as he is an important player. A midfield 3 of him, Bergvall/Gray and Kulusevski has a nice ring to it.

We've had a lot of injuries but I think this guy being missing is one of our biggest losses. We'll look a lot better with him back.

I’m just nervous about him playing. His health is more important. I’d love nothing more than getting a sustained run of games from him and for there to be no lingering effects from what was a pretty awful moment.

Hopefully he can finally get a solid run.
I was massively critical of him after his eventful Summer, but this season has made me realise how much we need him in the squad.

If he finishes the season strong and injury free, I'd be trying to get him to commit to a new contact. I'd definitely be looking to shift Bissouma before him.

Such a difference maker. Our best CM and it's not particularly close. Hope he gets a run of games without freak injuries now and can hit that elite form he had pre-Qatar.

So fucking good today. I really hope him, Deki and Gray are our starting midfielders as soon as we get some defenders back. That's a hell of a lot of class in one midfield.

i wrote in many other threads about how it takes time to get up to pace and match fitness in epl - both in terms of recovery from injuries / layoffs as well as not being overplayed (like sonny deki porro - sidenote: we must have data on their baseline fitness n these 3 must be monsters for the managers to still trust them with this current workload).

and bentacur has had a stop-start momentum ever since he was back from injury.

against brentford, his energy levels were noticeably higher and hopefully we have turned a corner in terms of players at this peak physical state (and will coincide with form). a fully match fit Rodrigo Bentacur is up there alongside the best midfielders in the prem.

we will need this version of Bentacur (and others) if we want to progress further in the 3 cups !

He will have 12 months left on his contract in the summer. Do we move him on or give him a new deal? Same with Bissouma, although that is an easier decision. I think I'd look to move both on and try to totally revamp our midfield.

If he can't get back to his level we need to move him on.

His suspension, whilst harsh, has meant my patience is shorter with him.

Bissouma obviously must be sold. Personally, I’d be selling Bentancur too. Kulusevski, Maddison, Sarr, Bergvall, Gray, and a new 6 should be the midfield next season.
