Is the Liverpool game his last ban?

Or have I miscalculated that badly? I feel like I've miscalculated badly.....

We appealed for him to be back for that but no public decision on it so assume appeal wasn't successful

Unsurprising, but ultimately was only 1 game. He’ll be back from Boxing Day then can go from there - hopefully with some of our injured players coming back not soon after.

Can't wait for him to be back. Not perfect for the 6 role, but our midfield has been weaker without him.

Wish he didn't lunge into challenges as recklessly, but he has more composure on the ball, better passing and better positional discipline than our other options.

Waste of time. Should’ve just taken the hit. Even if you feel it was harsh, and maybe it was, the optics of appealing weren’t great and I agree with @punkisback, should just taken the hit. People are forgetting that while it was harsh or whatever it’s fucking Bentancur that’s let us and the club down. He’s a fucking idiot and I was always taught to take your punishment, however harsh, if you’ve fucked up. You hold your hands up, say you’re sorry and move on. At least we can do that now with the appeal declined. Lucky we didn’t get it extended.

he brings a control and calmness that most of our players lack. Hopefully the rest will do him good.

Don’t think that’s how appeals work
We've seen appeals lead to increases before if the panel deems there's no justification for an appeal. The original panel were very scathing of bentancur in his written evidence and that was why he got 7 instead of 6.
It was a very bad look appealing the decision and now it's been upheld so it makes it look even worse.
Time to move on from it and hopefully Bentancur won't be so stupid again and hopefully the club learn their lesson as well

I think those extensions were for Red card offenses etc.
They are indeed.
We appealed the length of ban, not the ban itself.
There was clearly never any danger of it being extended due to a spurious appeal, that's why we appealed.

In the meantime, Lucas Paqueta continues to play for West Ham (earning them a point last night) despite being charged with, essentially, match-fixing in May. He was given until 3rd June to respond.......
Nothing from the wonderful FA as to why this hasn't been resolved already.

Why was it a waste of time, nothing has been lost by appealing?

So back for Forest then. Games coming thick and fast. Will be sorely needed.

Deserves a decent run of luck for a few months at least

You got some statistical evidence to back that up?

Whilst i agree he should have got something, the fact that Fernandez has just got away with it all absolutely stinks, especially what he did actually came from a place of malice

We could go round and round with this.
Personally I think its about time we drew a line under this and moved on (in public).
Behind the scenes, there must be some level of accountability and commitment to improving Bentancurs understanding of all things race related.
