Shame about this impending ban, guys such a fucking classy player. Does everything with ease and simplicity that it actually goes under the radar how important he is.

His performance today will do him a lot of good regardless of the suspension, like the good news after the bad news.

edit: who th auto corrects news into nephews? Especially regarding Rodrigo…

Making the 6 role his own. He’s back, and it’s a massive result for the side. Hopefully the ban isn’t too absurd.

I, for one, wasn’t guessing our best midfield trio was going to be Maddison, Deki and Bentancur.

I’m really glad I was wrong. They look fantastic

Just so composed. Looks to be moving easily as well. Wonderful. Really hoping that ban isn't too heavy. He will be missed

Very impressed with his defensive responsibilities lately. Playing a bit like Carrick in that he sort of goes unnoticed a lot because of how well he's doing the job.
i actually was saying that while watching the game, mid way throug the 2nd half and i had completely forgotten he was playing. Good sign that

He's starting to find his rhythm again, showing his quality and running the midfield.

Great to see

Been brilliant last 2 league games . Him and Maddison looked good against Brentford last week . Today for a hour they were outstanding again

Hopefully one of them will be the Caraboa Cup.

Didn’t see the game today but I’m glad it seems he’s back to his best. Said last season he should be judged on how he performs this season, he was our second best player before his injury imo. One of my favourite players out of this current squad

Been brilliant these last couple of games. Interesting he was sold by Juventus because he didn’t really thrive as a holding midfielder for them when they wanted him to. Might well be the football we’re playing is highlighting his attributes more.

Hopefully the ban isn’t for long.

He's getting back to that pre Qatar 2022 WC form where he was one of the best midfielders on the planet.

Remember that pretty clearly because Valverde was also peaking at the same time for Real, Uruguayan midfield was poised to be incredible for that tournament. Then the injury in the group stage match :(

Others are getting the headlines for the glamour, but make no mistake, he has been one of the most important parts of our recent winning run.

Im really pleasantly surprised that he has turned the corner. I worried that the injury effects might be terminal.

Just in time for an impending ban..
It's a shame, but we'll have to roll with it. At least he can play Europa and League Cup games to keep him sharp.

Edit: Actually I assume his ban will cover League Cup fixtures too?!
